That's because Syco pay the channels and OCC, and Simon Cowell's pals with David Cameron so he can get away with it.

You think David Cameron cares who is #1? OH DEAR.

As I said, shush with all this immediately. You have your opinion, of which you are entitled, but there is NO PROOF if this rubbish so keep it to yourself.

The hype in the press, constant airplay on TV and radio, very tactical release dates - it all adds up.

Thats called a good release strategy.

I'm surprised 'Good Love' isn't doing better, I've heard it quite a few times on Capital which I rarely listen to.

Yes, as others have said, if One Direction have one of the biggest first week sales of the year then it clearly doesn't matter what week they released..

Anyway, good to see Kasabian and Noel Gallagher look like they are heading for Top 40 hits.

I think she should concentrate on her own career since her single is dropping like a brick with a hurricane force.

None of the new entries from last week seem to have much staying power at the moment.I imagine that all three will get maybe 1 or 2 weeks tops in the Top 10.

Natalia Kills is the one I'm rooting for this week, it's a shame she just CAN'T catch a break no matter what she tries. :(

I quite like One Direction's song, although I wasn't really expecting much from them...

COME ON GUCCI GUCCI.
1 One Direction What Makes You Beautiful 1.000000

2 Maroon 5 Moves Like Jagger (Studio Recording from the Voice Performance) 0.432086

3 Pixie Lott All About Tonight 0.312542

4 The Saturdays All Fired Up 0.223479

5 Olly Murs Heart Skips a Beat (feat. Rizzle Kicks) 0.201877

Pixie only 9% ahead of The Sats now, I expect they'll be #3 later on tonight possibly.

What you've stated is incorrect.

Pixie is 39.85% ahead of The Saturdays [(0.312542 / 0.223479) - 1] * 100

One Direction are without a doubt going to have the biggest first week sales of the year. The lead they have is HUGE! :o Their label's also been clever, they've decided to release the physical on a Sunday rather than tomorrow!

'Only' 9% is still a lot when all the bars are compressed by One Direction's lead. Put it this way, if you ignore OD and M5 and set Pixie as #1, The Sats would be on 0.715037.

What you've stated is incorrect.

Pixie is 39.85% ahead of The Saturdays [(0.312542 / 0.223479) - 1] * 100

Or an easier way to calculate it would be just (0.312542 - 0.223479) / 0.223479

You can multiply that by 100 for the percentage as well but you don't really have to, you can convert a decimal to a percentage in your head easily.

It's been a long time since I can last remember seeing the #1 with double the pop-bar of #2. Last I can remember was Born This Way.

One Direction won't be as frontloaded as people say either. But I also highly doubt they're going to sell 400,000 this week!

DJ Fresh? I think JLS did double #2 as well. It's not necessarily a huge achievement anyway though as it depends on the sales of the #2.

I'm pretty sure JLS didn't, did they!? :o DJ Fresh might've done though. And When We Collide and What's My Name? did aswell.
