Next week's theme will be songs on itunes

The week after its going to be TV Advert tunes and the week after that - TV theme tunes but only the ones that actually have had songs produced from them i.e., Eastenders, Prisoner Cell Block H, Home and Away, Sons & Daughters, etc.

It'll be Pop Goes The X-Factor all over again!

Kath

Seriously guys. This is a show which has played host to Boyz II Men, Westlife (annually), Diana Vickers and many more. Cee-Lo is a pretty great guest by comparison to any of those and on his own merits too.

Rubbish theme.

What if somebody wants to sing CELINE for example?! Such racism ugh.
Are people REALLY complaining about the theme because it rules artists out? You might as well complain about EVERY SODDING THEME EVER
I'm complaining about the theme because it's unimaginative and not really a 'theme'.

typically lame theme then, I don't get the 'vs'? they might as well just say UK or US songs - which is a bit broad to say the least!

I think Cee-Lo's quite a good guest though, clearly an experienced musician with a good voice

I hope the big twist is that Konnie Huq is the main presenter.

YES. I haven't watched Xtra Factor since she left.

There was a thread on DS about song suggestions, this was my post (I know each person won't do two songs but I chose 2 anyway :P):

GIRLS:

Amelia -

Ironic by Alanis Morrisette or My Immortal by Evanessence (US)

New York by Paloma Faith (UK)

Janet -

Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush (BUT I'm not entirely sure I'd want her to do this, she could either nail or murder it and I wouldn't want the latter!...) (UK)

The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson (US)

Misha -

Nobody's Perfect by Jessie J (UK)

Crazy In Love by Beyonce (US)

Sophie -

I Put A Spell On You by Nina Simone (US) - I know she isn't the original artist (at least I don't think she is?) but we have our token Louis' rulebook moment :P

Someone Like You by Adele (UK)

BOYS:

Marcus -

What If by Jason DeRulo (US)

Frankie -

The A Team by Ed Sheeran (UK)

Gives You Hell by All American Rejects (US)

James -

Candy by Paolo Nutini (UK)

A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton (US)

Craig -

Grenade by Bruno Mars (US)

Groups:

2Shoes -

Biology by Girls Aloud (UK)

Candyman by Christina Aguilera (US)

Rhythmix -

Unpretty by TLC (US)

Stronger by Sugababes (UK)

NuVibe/The Risk -

Frisky by Tinie Tempah (UK)

(sorry I forget which one rapped WITS at JH :P)

Overs:

Sami Brookes -

Empire State Of Mind Pt. II by Alicia Keys (US)

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse (UK)

Johnny Robinson -

It's Raining Men by The Weather Girls (US)

Tragedy by Steps (UK)

Jonjo Kerr -

Fix You by Coldplay (UK)

What About Now by Daughtry (US)

Kitty Brucknell -

You & I by Lady Gaga (US)

Total Eclipse Of The Heart by Bonnie Tyler (UK)

This series really is shaping up to be AWFUL. UK vs US?

I was talking to people at work who have loved watching The X Factor over the years to find out who they woukd like to win this year. Some of them have made comments like "you know what, I missed it last weekend" whilst others have swiftly changed the subject and asked me "have you been watching Downton Abbey, it's great". :D

Surely says something about this years final 16.

But the ratings remain through the roof... I think all it says is that a small handful of people you casually surveyed have decided to stop watching. And most of them will probably watch anyway come Saturday!

Don't they always have a pretty vague theme in the first week ?

I'd rather not have themes to be honest. It's nice to see that their versatile, but you end up seeing them perform songs they'd never release after the show

Ac tually, you're right Jark. Give it a few weeks and they'll most likely have a different opinion of the contestants. It's just usually in the past before the live shows, the people at work have talked about who their fave act who had made the final was.

Thinking about it, my supervisor did say she likes Sami. :D My fave was Jade. :(

I don't really care much for the themes either. Besides they often just find some sort of loophole so they can sing whatever they want or the themes are so broad it might as well be "sing whatever you want".

Wow. That's pretty big. No double eliminations after this week then. I would guess at this stage that the four going home will be Sophie, James, Sami and Rhythmix.

As a twist, I quite like it. It's certainly nowhere near as shit as I expected. As much as I did like the image of Cheryl Cole waltzing back in with four acts she couldn't give a shit about and calling a Tulisa 'a second rate me' at every chance she got.

I imagine Sophie and Rhythmix are guaranteed exits. As is Sami too really. Not sure with the boys though.

As long as there are no audience interruptions/other judges opinions then I hope the right choices are made.

My choices would be: Nu Vibe, Craig, Johnny and Misha

I think they'll pick: 2 Shoes, Craig, Johnny and Sophie.

I don't think Louis will risk getting rid of Sammi, now that he's had chance to get audience reaction/views on his category or whatever. She's definitely the one that will go furthest from his group.
