I'd go -

1.Ruth Brown (Absolutely spectacular!)

2.Tyler James (Love him, used to love him back in 2004!)

3.Leanne Mitchell (Sounded amazing even though I thought it was the wrong song choice)

4.Joelle Moses (Did brilliant)

5.Matt & Suleen (Wasn't perfect but there's something I love about them)

6.Jaz Ellington (His best performance yet but I still think he's a tad overrated)

7.Sam Buttery (His first performance where I could bare to listen to him but he was rather good)

8.Sophie Griffin (Average, shouldn't have got through over J Marie)

9.Frances Wood (Don't like her tone of voice, irritating)

10.Adam Issac (He's cute but I think he was drowned out by the guitars and I don't believe he has a very good rock voice)

Tyler was absolutely amazing. He was already my favourite and he certainly didn't disappoint me. I usually don't understand why anyone would want to buy a X Factor performance version on iTunes, but if his version of Higher Love was released I would definitely buy it. Beautiful!

Ruth was so good aswell and I really like Frances.

The reason I like the Oleta Adams version of Get Here is that the vocals are very restrained. The song doesn't need the sort of vocal histrionics that Ruth used last night.

I hate that they film the results the night before, I just found out who has been supposedly eliminated on Twitter. For anyone who wants to know (don't know why you would out of choice):

*tries hardest not to look*

I don't see at all why they simply must film results the day before. It's probably more convienient for them just staying there and filming rather than coming back the next day to do it live again, but they'll be in and around the studio rehearsing etc. anyway, and keeping the lines open for longer surely gets them more money which I would've thought is the main thing  Plus it stops these vote leaks.

It's much cheaper for the BBC to do. No studio hire, extra days work for all the crew etc. - and it will still equal big ratings for them. The results didn't leak until about 1am this morning, and to be honest I think you'll only find out about them if you actively go looking for them. Plus I think The Voice works better when it's edited.

I do like The Voice, but on reflection I think that it tried to take the moral highground over X Factor and American Idol etc. but it fails when it gets to the live shows. Don't get me the wrong the talent compared to X Factor on the Voice is second to none. It's streets ahead. But none of the The Voice contestsants so far have the charisma of X Factor ones (looking straight at you Adam), and the judges last night looked uncomfortable when criticising performers. Like I say it's probably teething problems and will get better as the weeks go on. But even Holly looked as wooden as anything last night and she's a seasoned pro at this shiz!

I thought Holly was the best thing about last night, ha. And I don't usually like her either.

In contrast with the US version of the show ours seemed very lacking in atmosphere last night. It's just a bit too clean and unexciting somehow. Too nice. It doesn't have to be X Factor to feel a bit more invigorated. Like Rooney said it might've been teething problems and hopefully everybody involved will relax a bit in future weeks.

I normally love her, and I get she's reads off an autocue but it just seemed so damn obvious! She looked really nervous. I know he gets a lot of stick oh here, but Reggie was really at ease with it all. Thought he was better than Holly.

There's loads of cannon fodder still isn't there? I think it suffers from nobody really knows the contestants yet either, the judges included. Even last night how many potential winners were there? I could honestly only see Ruth, Jaz or Tyler out of that lot.

I thought it was an okay beginning to the live shows; Tom's team were absolutely collectively dire though, I've no idea why he picked most of them! That's why I don't like that one contestant from each team is eliminated every week, because I'm sure that Tom will have the bottom two from any of Sam, Adam and Matt and Sueleen.

01. Tyler James "Higher Love" [Again, I've not really liked his previous performances and was shocked when he got through over Heshima, but this was just sublime!]

02. Sophie Griffin "Titanium" [This was amazing! Why's everybody (but Jark) hating on it? Definitely one of my favourites and I hope she goes far]

03. Leanne Mitchell "Who Knew" [i wasn't a big fan of her previous performances, but this was just incredible! I hope for less of the opera-sounding vocals, but I'll let that slip]

04. Ruth Brown "Get Here" [Her audition was decent, her battle round was poor, but she definitely won me over (vocally) with this!]

05. Joelle Moses "I'm Goin' Down" [Her best performance for me yet! Not fantastic, but it was very good]

06. Jaz Ellington "At Last" [The most overrated contestant in the show; it was a nice performance, but nothing more than that]

07. Frances Wood "Ain't Nobody" [i was disappointed with this, after her audition was one of my favourites]

08. Matt and Sueleen "Go Your Own Way" [she's an appalling singer. I like his voice, and would've enjoyed it a lot without her there]

09. Adam Isaac "All My Life" [Couldn't hear a word he sang, but it was still miles better than Sam]

10. Samuel Buttery "A Little Respect" [Absolutely awful. Why he even got through the auditions is beyond me! He's not even a good singer]

So unfortunately based on those performances, I can see Frances going, but she's definitely the weakest vocally on Will's team, despite me loving her so much! I couldn't care less who left from Tom's team as long as it's not Leanne.

I'd really like to see Tyler James benefit from his apperance on The Voice. Perhaps re-release his album (if there was one from 2004) with a few new recordings. Would be great to see 'Who Do I Do?' and 'Foolish' get a second lease of life in the UK charts.

My ranking;

01 Frances Wood

02 Joelle Moses

03 Tyler James

04 Sophie Griffin

05 Ruth Brown

06 Jaz Ellington

07 Leanne Mitchell

08 Matt & Sueleen

09 Adam Isaac

10 Sam Buttery

Absolutely LOVED Frances Wood and she has such a great, fun personality. She doesn't have the best voice in the competition but I can see her having a big career, I hope people get behind her. I feel like Joelle was overlooked alot too, she was stunning with her song. Tyler James too was just amazing ... it seemed so effortless. Sophie was a bit pitchy at times but she seems so cute and I'm just really rooting for her.

Ruth is technically good but I'm not really a fan of her style of singing tbh. I thought Deniese was better in the battle too where she just seemed to shout the song. Jaz was again, technically good but he seems so SMUG and he really isn't as good as the judges make him out to be imo.

The rest were just average or awful. Annoying that one from Team Will.i.am has to leave though.

Very patchy show tonight, there was a proper lull in the middle. Hopefully next week's talent is better. Frances is a great sing but that performance was really not solid at all, I can't believe it's getting so much praise on here.

THE REST

I actually agree with you 100%. :o Joelle is almost too perfect in a sense. She can sing anything, the only problem is she sometimes sounds a bit whiney, she needs to control that.

Sophie is absolutely amazing imo. Definitely a bad song choice as it's so current and it's so so hard to sing. But, for a 17 year old her voice and confidence is quite something. She has great range and with some more training I'd say she's definitely one to watch. Watch some of her videos on youtube from before the show.

I actually hated Ruth singing 'No One' but after toning it down last night she was great. She didn't oversing too much and she didn't go too OTT like 'No One', although the last little bit wasn't needed. She also had the right amount of emotion. It'll be interesting as to what she can do in the next few weeks because she kind of went all out and it's only week 1.

Tyler will go far in the competition. Great voice and he's hot. I think he has a lot more to come, just needs to conquer his nerves.

Leanne had the wrong song choice and it was in the wrong key. But, she sung the hell out of it and somehow managed to save it. She has so much potential because her range and tone are spot on. Hopefully she'll get a decent song that suits her next time.

The rest don't really do much for me, the tree huggers, Sam and Adam are just poo. I don't get the hype around Jaz either, yes he can sing but he's not a star. Frances is decent enough but I hate her tone and she doesn't have much range. She's pretty limited.

I think next week's show will definitely be a lot stronger. Really excited for it. Agree about Holly's comments. I absolutely love her normally but she was very wooden last night, she needs to relax a little. Like others have said though, it's probably first live show nerves etc...it should get better. Oh and wtf, was Holly wearing. Terrible dress and shoes.

It's definitely NOT live. Reggie just said to Sophie "You sung your lungs out tonight". Tonight being the key word... :P

Really shouldn't have looked at those spoilers. Ruined :(

Happy Tyler James is through though. The only one I really liked yesterday

Joelle bottom 2 whut? Idk, I totally saw it coming though :(

Oh dear, I can sing this better than Lana  I love her but often awful live!

Thank f*** for that, he was awful!
the live stuff put me off Lana Del Rey. I'm just not interested in her anymore. Glad Sam has gone. Never been fussed on him.
