Sophie really is just a one trick pony, isn't she.
As you thought what?

Yes, they're having a go at Tulisa :D She deserves it.

I presume the whole of BJ will just say it's Kelly that did that even though they all did.

Took me a minute to click what track this was.

Same here. I think the song was a little too big for her, she struggled in places I think.

Sophie Abibis - Living On A Prayer

Yawn!!! Is Sophie STILL banging on about being "forgettable". Going on about it is not the solution. Taking that stage and owning it with a fantastic performance will.

Anyways, to the performance and Sophie really doesn't suit "rock chick". There are elements I like about this but then when I'm expecting Sophie to really go for it, she doesn't. Yet when she does it's a bit screechy and awkward. Not exactly convinced by that performance but it had *something*. 6/10

Janet Devlin = 7/10

Marcus Collins = 6/10

Sophie Abibis = 6/10

Sami Brooks = 5/10

Rhythmix = 5/10

 Okay bre!

Louis is really a pathetic old man sometimes, Kelly loves sophie. Odd comment.

Sophie has such a soft voice, she shouldn't try to belt, doesnt suit her soft tone.

The Silas Rate - Week 3

Marcus || 10 || My good god. Outstanding. Easily his best performance and finally something that really properly suits him.

Sophie || 09.5 || Brilliant rendition of my favourite Bon Jovi track. Loved it.

Sami || 06 || Tragic song choice. Good vocals but just so dull. Worst performance by her for me.

Janet || 05 || Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Rythmix || 03 || Not in the slightest bit rock. Just don't like their vocals.

internet trouble. Any interesting judges comments about Sophie?

Sophie - I liked it a lot, but it felt a little tame for rock week. Still a great performance though. 8.5/10

Janet - 9/10

Sophie - 8.5/10

Sami - 7/10

Marcus - 6.5/10

Rhythmix - 6/10

Still failing to see why she was put through over Amelia ... her best performance is still 'Teenage Dream', she struggles vocally at the big notes. Shame as I want to like her!

Meh. What was the point in un-rockifying that?

Rates 2011 (week 3)

9.0 Janet Devlin - Sweet Child O' Mine

7.0 Sami Brookes - If I Could Turn Back Time

6.5 Marcus Collins - Are You Gonna Go My Way

5.0 Sophie Habibis - Livin' On A Prayer

0.5 Rhythmix - TiK ToK / Push It

01 Janet - Okay, so the Diana Vickers / Ellie Goulding thing is gone. She's gone thoroughly down the Florence & The Machine route! Really enjoyed that. 8.5/10

02 Marcus - Oh, that was a great opener to the show! So energetic, yet it didn't lose tune. The performance in general. VERY impressed, because unlike most on here - I wasn't sold on the Russian Roulette or Moves Like Jagger performances. 8.5/10

03 Sophie - I really liked the whole atmospheric feel of it, as usual. She wasn't very good when she tried to up the notes though, which I'll penalise her for. Enjoyed it though! 8/10

04 Sami - She does have a good voice, she can sing almost every note in tune. But, is that gonna stop people thinking she's cruiseship/karaoke? Absolutely not, her weakest performance yet for me. 6/10

05 Rhythmix - I love Rhythmix, and I'm Like A Bird was my favourite performance of last week. But, this was vocally weak - a ridiculous song choice, and I'm disappointed. 5.5/10

I've also put Janet down 0.5 (the horror!) - think I over rated her a bit.

Sophie Abibis - Living On A Prayer

So true, same with Janet and 'boring' they always say same thing every week, its been said, MOVE ON.

I think Sophie did JUST ENOUGH this week to keep out of trouble... I was kind of hoping she'd prove the doubters wrong by delivering a massive uptempo SMACKDOWN and although she did get a bit of belting in the tempo was still slow and that's kind of a problem. But nonetheless there's a beautiful tone to her voice which straddles the line between clarity and gravelly. Probably my favourite voice of anybody in the competition.

8.0 Sophie

7.9 Janet

7.8 Marcus

6.8 Sami

4.9 Rhythmix

This. It needed a nice loud track behind it to cover all her dud notes.

Misha's track isn't hugely rocky, but it'd be quite difficult to dispute that it's classified as rock!

It's definitely rock, I agree, it's just it's what I'd expect from Misha. I want to see her do something a bit different. Same with Sophie. That was a great performance, but she does tend to do the same thing every week. Kelly seems to be doing that with all her girls.

This is how I felt about Sophie's performance just now. I really like her voice, but the song seemed too big for her, it made her screech in places and be a bit awkward. It definitely had *something* though, yes! I think she is becoming more and more confident in herself and that is really great to see.

I think The X Factor are really milking the 'forgettable', 'underdog' thing for all it's worth - in the hope people support the underdog.

Looking forward to Misha doing Purple Rain, big song to do and after Ruth's incredible performance it'll be hard to top.

See, this is why I think contestants tend to do better when singing songs they want to sing. Ruth chose 'Purple Rain' and that was the moment she grabbed everyones attention and she indeed did nail that performance. How odd to think that was her survival song. Dannii really didn't do her justice with song choices that series. 2008 overall was probably the series of X Factor - so many great acts - the only two who let down the series was the young Irish lad ( :puke: ) and the man in the overs category.
