^Thanks for that.

It remains very close at the top of the singles market between Def Jam/Mercury’s Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris single We Found Love and Global Talent/Island’s The Wanted with Lightning with the Rihanna track only around 6,000 sales ahead at the end of business yesterday.

Oooh! It's so close ! [/obvioussarcasm]

Rihanna annihilating the Wanted. :D

I find it funny how all these news reports seem to think The Wanted are still in with a chance. It's been obvious since the first mids there's no way they'll get there. Calling a gap of 6k on Friday's mids 'very close' is ridiculous. Maybe if the track at #2 is increasing at the time but Rihanna must be outselling The Wanted by nearly 1.5-to-1 by now...

Looking very likely now than Seanlexis will get top 10, although they are falling now on iTunes so it wouldn't surprise me too much if they end up stalling at #11.

Bieber out of the top 15 and Laidback Luke/Example climbing again :cheer: Hopefully the latter can stay at least #37 on Sunday, if not higher.

Ugh at 'Hands All Over' climbing back into the top 10.

So 54,446 is the absolute highest Matt's sales could be today. Hmm. I think his sales will end up at around 70k maybe. (That'll probably be way out )

COME ON NOEL HE IS KILLING MATT

so it's

#1 NOEL 94k

#2 Matt 54k

I can see Noel doing 120k+ by end of week!

Edited by Jez

also It seems to me that Matt was more front loaded his sales have tailed off way more than NOELs

1st day

Noel V Matt

55,000 V 28,000 ( 27k difference)

-----

4th day

Noel 94,000 v Matt 54,000 (40,000+ difference)

...........

Do people think Matt can actually do 70k by the end ?

Um no, it's the opposite in fact, as Matt has almost doubled his first mids tally (93% more if he has sold 54k), whereas Noel has only sold 70% more

I think Matt will fall short of 70k. Something silly like 69,485 and DS will have a massive party over the 'flop' sales.

true! sorry about that.

But Noel has pulled away from matt more than 40k now.

The absolute difference has increased but the only way for it to decrease is for Matt to start selling more than Noel - which, given Noel was outselling Matt 2-to-1 on Monday, is fairly unlikely. A much more sensible thing to do is look at the percentage difference. Matt had 50.9% of Noel's sales on Tuesday, today he has 57.4% (upper limit, but it surely isn't TOO much lower than that), so he has been less frontloaded (although Noel is still selling more).

what I was trying to say that even though Noel has huge first day sales.... Matt has not been able to close the gap on Noel.

give it until end of saturday. Noel will be further ahead going by the trend

Yes, he probably will, because he is still pulling away from Matt - that doesn't mean Matt has been more frontloaded though :P

Fair play, it's quite a confusing scenario too! At least more than one album will have healthy sales this week and hopefully that number will increase every week over Chritsmas. I'm still unsure whether we'll get any '15 over 100k' weeks this year but then Christmas does surprise.

I think Matt will fall short of 70k. Something silly like 69,485 and DS will have a massive party over the 'flop' sales.

Ah damn I was really hoping he could sell 80k just for that delightful Dser who pledged to do something very disgusting if Matt sold that  He's still doing okay though, the question is can it sustain sales or will it just slide down? I think I read somewhere it is Radio 2's Album of The Week next week which should help ensure it doesn't slide too far for week 2 atleast.
