This is the first of three parts of this poll to find the best #1 of 2011.

 

This is all about the songs from January to April - the next part will then be from May to August and the final part will be from September to December.

 

When the overall one is found in each of the groups then they will go up against each other for the vote.

 

When voting in the poll please state which one you have chosen and why you think it is the best out of that group.

 

Please do not talk about the other #1s of the year so far - Just concertate on these four months at the moment!

I'd actually say LMFAO, although kesha, j-lo, nicole and jessie come close behind.

These number ones are so much stronger and better than songs that reached the top later in the year

I was actually spoilt for choice here as my vote could've gone to any of Bruno Mars, Jessie J or Adele. For sheer domination during its time at #1 my vote goes to 'On The Floor' (yes, moreso than 'Someone Like You').

Terrible list, but would have to be Kesha for me!

'On The Floor' :wub: One of my favourite songs of 2011. Very strong period for #1's and the UK charts in general. It all goes a bit pear-shaped from May (same as it did last year imo)

Don't Hold Your Breath, although it was close between that and On The Floor. Nice list as well. DHYB is such a good ballad, and I think it's one of my songs of the year, so easy choice, but I do like On The Floor quite a lot.

Easily LMFAO for me, but I love Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez very much too - all are in my top 5 songs of the year :wub:

Jennifer Lopez's On the Floor! :wub: Would have been Adele's Someone Like You, but it prevented Lady Gaga's Born This Way from getting to number one! :P

Went for On The Floor, close between that and Someone Like You, but I overplayed SLY

I honestly can't decide between Grenade, Price Tag, On The Floor & Party Rock Anthem - all are very good and amongst my favourites of the year, I went with Grenade

 

nothing bad here though - Someone Like You, What's My Name & Don't Hold Your Breath are very good, but got kind of boring after a while, the only one I can't say I'm keen on is We R Who We R - which was still a bit of a questionable number 1 for me

I don't dislike any of them, which is rather excellent. It was a very good start to the year, IMO "Someone Like You" is the weakest there because it's so simple in its arrangement that it's utterly reliant on the strength of Adele's lyrics, which don't particularly stand up to close scrutiny. Very simple ballads have worked this year, but I would say that "Video Games" for instance is more worthy of the success than "Someone Like You".
