Alexandra Stan  I thought that had been and gone. I wonder if it will be a hit?

Wow, Alexandra has a chance to avoid being a one hit wonder :o Doubt it will do much more than top 40 at best in the xmas market, although it should survive the xmas playlist freeze and might jump in the new year.

Thougt Taio was releasing Hangover here next? Obviously not...

Alexandra Stan  I thought that had been and gone. I wonder if it will be a hit?

Yeah, I swear i've seen the song on music channels for at least two months now.

Not as good as Mr Saxobeat, though, obviously.

Why is 'Love on Top' still on the C-List? :(

I'm not fussed about any of the new releases, but 'Get Back (A.S.A.P.)' has grown on me since I first heard it, so I wouldn't mind it being a hit ^_^

Alexandra Stan :o Rather bored of it now tbh, but I'm pleased and impressed that it's on the playlist :D
Yey! :cheer: Alexandra Stan  Love the UK edit! I hope it will have the same sort of run Sharam's PATT had a few years ago as that was out at a simular time. I imagine though it will do an Inna Deja Vu :(
Ah, Black Keys up. Does anyone remember if they backed "Tighten Up"?

Yes, I think it started on INMWT List and worked it's way up to the B-List but only spent 2 maybe 3 weeks there.

Surprised that Foster The People are A-Listed, Helena Beat only reached the B-List

Good to see Michael Kinawuka

Both versions of 'Levels' have had C-B-A (:kink:) movements then! It'll be interesting to see which one they kick off first, I can see both hanging around the top end of the chart for a while.

Nothing I've heard yet from Foster The People comes close to the amazingness of 'Pumped Up Kicks' but I hope they can somehow escape one hit wonderdom anyway. 'Call It What You Want' is better than 'Helena Beat' and 'Houdini'.

Another A-List for The Vaccines - I haven't heard 'Wetsuit' yet to my knowledge, is it a new song or is it from their album?

And another A-List for Katy Perry, have they A-Listed all 10 of her singles so far?

Delilah's new one is pretty good but not as good as 'Go'. Glad to see it moving up though (and Nero and Flux Pavilion/Doctor P).

Bizarre they're adding Alexandra Stan only now, I guess that's more a case of the TV channels jumping on it too early than radio jumping on it too late though. I hope it can be another top 20 hit for her at least (a la Amazing) although I'm slightly over it now. Uninteresting C-List additions otherwise. I wish they'd stop giving the X Factor charity single the compulsory few weeks on the C-List every single year - either support it properly or don't support it at all.

Fantastic to see R1 supporting Big Sean :w00t: I'm surprised he's releasing 'My Last' as his first single here though, I'm sure the Nicki Minaj remix of 'Dance (A$$)' would be a more sensible choice. His best song (that I've heard) is 'Marvin & Chardonnay' but that would flop horribly here.

Why on earth are they backing The Vaccines so heavily still? It's at least the 6th single off the album, surely there's another band they could be backing instead? Dear me.

Really uninspiring new additions this week, a shame Ben Howard is out already, didn't think it was 'released' until next Monday.

Very long overdue follow-up for Alexandra Stan there, I heard it months ago and it's a total clone of 'Me Saxobeat' (but not awful or anything). I can't see how she won't just be a one hit wonder like Agnes etc, but we'll see.
Another A-List for The Vaccines - I haven't heard 'Wetsuit' yet to my knowledge, is it a new song or is it from their album?

'Wetsuit' is probably one of the better tracks on the album, behind 'All in White' and 'If You Wanna'. I for one am glad they're still supporting the band - they've grown in popularity certainly since the release of 'Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)' last year and by keeping tracks short, they become ideal for radio play.

'Wetsuit' is released on Sunday as a double A-side with new track 'Tiger Blood' - so the appeal of the promotion is also to promote this double A-side, produced by the lead singer of The Strokes. I'm hoping they can begin releasing new material by next Summer - they've already been added to the Benicassim line-up in July and I'm not a fan of bands playing 'new material' that may not appear on an album/ep.

Funny to see My Last by Big Sean added. Radio 1Xtra (and many other radio stations) seem to have been playing that song for over 6 months! Similar with Get Back. I personally think it would be a better song to promote him in the UK than Dance. Not much on Big Sean's discography is UK friendly at all, but it seems the UK need melodies for people to buy songs, so I think Dance is a bit too rhythmic and lyrical for the public here, whilst My Last has a nice catchy melody that everyone can hum along to.

Good to see Dot Rotton on there too.

Warzone by The Wanted has been doing really badly on iTunes with all the commercial radio airplay it's been getting already. Might only peak low top 40 in the end.

I'm kind of glad T-Pain hasn't been put up to A-list. It's getting so overplayed (which is funny, since it's like the least radio-friendly song out). I listened to the radio for about 1 hour yesterday, and heard it 4 times.

Nice to see The Vaccines continuing to be backed, their album has slowly garnered pretty decent sales and I think with the right single they could really strike gold. Highly unlikely it'll be with something from an album that's nearly a year old, but you never know
To be fair their album has never left the top 100 since its release 36 weeks ago and is one of the top 5 selling debuts of the year, I don't think it's about chances but it's the 6th single from the album, if it's being released as a AA side with another song why on earth is that not the one being promoted? I suppose it's no different to Katy Perry, her 6th single is A-listed.

You can hardly compare their success with Katy Perry's, even on the album front. Comparing them to similar bands, they are probably doing better, but with such backup from R1 it would be unacceptable if they didnt - the question is, would other bands be doing a lot better had they the same support?

I also think 6th singles shouldn't be getting such a huge support, B-list at most should suffice. I dont think 10 years ago they A-listed 5th or 6th singles even from big artists. But in the download age where singles are rush released, some are official others arent, it gets really confusing.

I agree on the point of support for post 4th singles off an album - they should be given passive airings not flat out alist support, leave it for newer songs!
