The XF physical is always released on the Wednesday. The situation is no different to previous years, it's just released for the week before Christmas this year.

Think that's what Martin is highlighting, that it has a strong chance of staying at #1 for Christmas week due to that week being a full week of sales for the physical, unlike in previous years.

It was released at Christmas and is often featured on Christmas comps: http://www.chartstats.com/release.php?release=15766

Great song

Really? I've loved the song for years, but never made the connection between it and Christmas, possibly because I first discovered when it was used over a Children in Need montage on BBC NI. I wish they'd re-release the Fantasy album in English, the CD version was deleted in the early 90s and costs up to £50 second hand on eBay (although I bought the vinyl for a tenner a few months ago).

The week for the chart after Christmas always has a full week of physicals - it's the same this year but a week earlier.

Could the first full week of physicals have higher sales than normal? Given that full week is before Christmas, more people could buy it as a stocking filler?

I should have word it different, last year Xmas/Boxing Day fell on Saturday/Sun/Mon it was more like 5 days than a full week, this year its virtually got a full week to due the winners track released a week early. The track has got a full week of physicals for the second week.

If you catch my drift. ;)

Yes, I'm aware of that. That's the point being made - a full week of physicals *during* Christmas week, so that could be advantageous towards it sticking at #1 to claim Christmas #1.

:cheer:

At this rate the first #1 of 2012 will be either Lloyd, T-Pain or Coldplay! :o

"Marry The Night" could finally climb into the top 10 as well if it holds on until after all the Christmas songs inevitably plummet.

Coldplay - Paradise 0.9575 0.9046

!!!!!!!

AIWFCIY could be a potential #2 when

Little Mix perform it

I thought it was

Amelia

?

Great for Coldplay at Number 2, hope it can make it to number 1 for at least a few hours. Also has Flo Rida been deleted? It seems to have gone missing

Yeah,

Little Mix are

supposed to be doing

Happy Christmas (War Is Over)

I think.

 19. Merry Christmas Everybody - Slade :D

And Wizzard up to #14, hurrah! Great to see them all still climbing :D

Coldplay, YES

It may not be their best album but it is one of the best of this years Q4 imo (my 2nd favourite behind Ceremonials)

I would love to see Coldplay and Buble toping the charts this week and the following one!

Might be wrong but for singles iTunes has about 80%? Around that I think.

Now #2!

Nowhere near that, nowadays - somewhere between 60-70%, I would guess.

So we have guesses of between 60-80%, thanks. I take it no one knows for sure what percentage share Itunes has of the download market then, oh well.

Christmas Wrapping - Waitresses #106 :cheer: one day it may become a Top 40 hit at last! Shame it ain't gonna happen this year :(
