I know this hang on....

"checks chart database"

I can't remember the group or the title now, it was a couple of years back. ugh

I believe Lisa Loeb & The Nine Stories' "Stay (I Miss You)" hit #1 in America while they were unsigned. Don't know if it was the same in the UK (where it peaked at #5).

Can someone help? When I click on the Top 1000 link at the moment it only displays some of the songs though if I search for something else inside the Top 1000 that will show. Currently it is showing

20. You da One - Rihanna

59. Set Fire to the Rain - ADELE

71. Marry You - Bruno Mars

77. Rolling In the Deep - ADELE

78. Lightning - The Wanted

80. Party Rock Anthem (feat. Lauren Bennet & GoonRock) - LMFAO

81. Heart Skips a Beat (feat. Rizzle Kicks) - Olly Murs

83. It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas - Michael Bublé

86. Shake It Out - Florence + The Machine

I thought it was filtered by category but that's not the case as those last 3 alone are all different. Does anyone know how I can get the full 1000 back? (The Top 300 link seems to be fine incidentally!)

Well I think it's safe to say Military Wives will be #1 with huge first week sales. It's going to sell more next week than what Little Mix will sell this week (and I can only see Little Mix's second week sales decrease).

Alex Day is the biggest shocker of the week though. :o That said, having heard the song now it's not that bad. He reminds me of a radio friendly Pagan Wanderer Lu. :D

Just looking at other iTunes stores trying to find some decent tunes to download.. Alex Day is top 40 in Norway and Denmark and is already number 6 in Sweden. It's gone worldwide!

You must have searched for something, check if the search box is empty or not. I can't think of anything else tbh.

Just looking at other iTunes stores trying to find some decent tunes to download.. Alex Day is top 40 in Norway and Denmark and is already number 6 in Sweden. It's gone worldwide!

#37 in Australia..

Is the Alex Day song a campaign? It was apparently added to iTunes on November 10th and there are comments on there dating back to that date too with loads of 'don't buy until the 18th or it won't count' style posts.

If it is a campaign engineered to this week then I don't understand how firstly it's slipped under the radar of everybody on a chart forum and secondly how it's suddenly taken off simultaneously on iTunes stores across the world. Maybe it's a worldwide xmas #1 campaign! Don't know why though because I thought caring about who gets the xmas #1 was a quintessentially British thing!

I believe Lisa Loeb & The Nine Stories' "Stay (I Miss You)" hit #1 in America while they were unsigned. Don't know if it was the same in the UK (where it peaked at #5).

I thought it might be "Stay" too, but was it released in the UK after she/they were signed. It also peaked one place lower than you mentioned however it did spend six weeks in the Top 10.

I think it is a campaign but through the medium of YouTube rather than Facebook. No idea why it's taking off worldwide though!

Thank God Nirvana aren't nearing the top 5 (at the moment!) terrible song. Never got the fuss with it and I never will. Just sounds like depressing noise to me.

Really like that Alex Day song actually! The video is really good too.
