Nope. Just let them chart wherever they're going to chart. First time was good as it was interesting and something that wasn't done before. But now there are TOO many of them and it's lost it's purpose now. Surely they're just as much "sheep" as the X Factor viewers are? Buying anything that someone tells them too? Hopefully MW manage to hold on as that wasn't a campaign, was it? And is actually for Charity/a good cause. (Even if I don't like the song) but the worst thing is, everyone in the Nirvana facebook group and the other campaigns that were purposefully set out to stop the XF winner from getting Christmas number 1, will still class it as a victory even though Little Mix will probably still wipe the floor with the rest of them. (Can't seem lower than #3 personally, climbing to #2 the week after. - maybe even back to number 1 - depending on how MW hold up.)
Am I the only one getting sick of all these silly campaigns? :(

nope. Im sick of the christmas ones. Get a good song at least to number 1 instead of grunge rock songs eventhough i do like SLTS. Needs to stop.

As this been posted ?

Military Wives on course for Christmas number one

Published Monday, Dec 19 2011, 12:08 GMT | By Robert Copsey

The Military Wives and Gareth Malone are on course for this year's Christmas number one, outselling their nearest competitor by a hundred to one.

Pre-orders for the choir's charity single 'Wherever You Are' meant that it stormed to the top of the Amazon and iTunes download charts on Sunday, making them favourites to win the race this week.

Amazon reports that sales of the track are likely to remain 100 times higher than its nearest competitors throughout the week, including Little Mix's X Factor winner's single 'Cannonball' and Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit', which has seen a rise in sales due to a Facebook campaign.

Amazon's music and MP3 manager Roger Greensmith said: "Military Wives have been smashing records throughout the pre-order period and now that the single has released they are continuing to perform well making this year's Christmas number one a foregone conclusion.

"'Wherever You Are' has no real competition for the race to top the charts on Christmas Day and the single is now one of the top twenty bestselling music products of all-time at Amazon.co.uk, a tremendous achievement for a single."

The choir, which is made up of 100 wives and girlfriends of army members who served in Afghanistan, recently performed the the song for the Prime Minister outside 10 Downing Street, as well as playing at the Royal Albert Hall last month.

KWORB combined

1 Military Wives - 1.0000

2 Lou Monte - Dominick The Donkey 0.7564

3 Alex Day - Forever Yours 0.6832

4 Little Mix - Cannonball 0.5174

5 Coldplay - Paradise 0.3999

^ That can't be true. Little Mix are probably on course for say 100,000 this week, so if Military Wives are out-selling them a hundred-to-one, then they'd be on course to sell 10,000,000 this week.

A HUNDRED to one? That seems highly unlikely because it'd pretty much make it the highest selling single ever already, I assume they must just be talking about Amazon sales?

This week is just TOO BIZARRE with this Donkey thing now in the mix as well. I'm liking this. I do love a good carcrash chart event. It will be amusing to see the chart runs of Military Wives, Alex Day and Lou Monte (and Nirvana but they're not looking to get that high in the first place - they're now #14 so I really hope they can keep climbing a bit and go top 10).

Good to see Stacey climbing a lot, I was worried it'd miss the top 40 but it should be safe now :D Also good to see TOWIE at least top 40, I prefer their version to Wham!'s

WTF? It's not THAT bad, but Wham!'s (dodgy punctuation aside) is PERFECT

100 to 1? The only thing I can see that being likely for is for sales on Amazon alone. I don't think Amazon have that big a share in sales at the moment so it'll be quite believable if it was just for their site only. It'd go with the report that it's the biggest pre-order ever on Amazon.
I can't with iTunes at the minute.

Neither can I, it's just too unpredictable at the momment! :drama:

Xmas number 1 has become a mess, everyone thinks they can release any old tosh or years old single and with enough hype it will chart high. The chart this week is going to look odd, then next week when all these songs free fall and the xmas classics do to, you will have old songs making 10-15 place rises.

What on EARTH is this Lou Monte? I can't believe Little Mix are already down to #3. :(

Good to see Stacey rising though.

is the cascada version of 'last christmas' anywhere to be seen? my preferred version of the song.
oh LOL at Lou Monte  I'm very surprised it got as high as two now though, I thought that campaign wouldn't work :o I know I'm in the minority, but I'm personally loving the charts atm, this is so much more exciting and unpredictable than an X Factor winner launching there and nothing else even bothering like last year, true the Military wives have got it in the bag, but at least there's lots of other weird and wonderful stuff in the chart which you just wouldn't get any other time of year!

I'd rather have an "unpredictable" chart, instead of just having the XF winner sail to the Xmas No.1 with ease (even if it means we get a song about an Italian donkey in the Top 5 :P )

Hmm, Military Wives massively increased their lead again about 5 hours ago - anyone know why? They're still increasing a bit now. Maybe my prediction of them losing the #1 by today was a bit hasty but I still stand by my promise to eat both of my feet if it's still #1 at the end of the week.

There are around 13 songs in the top 40 that most likely won't be there this time next week! :drama:

And the iTunes gift card effect will also be pushing loads of old songs back into the top 40 to replace them most likely. I'm expecting all three of Adele's songs back in the top 40 next week, maybe SLY going top 20 again?

The gift card effect should theoretically be the biggest it's ever been as there is a chart week which starts on the 25th (i.e. when people start using their gift cards). Last year I think Christmas day snuck into the end of a chart week and proceeded to completely mess up the chart, with loads of unpredictable last-minute changes.

It's not really "unpredictable" with regards to the #1. It's obvious already that Military Wives will get it, and it's only Monday.

The Price Tag/Champion/Born This Way week was more unpredictable.

Indeed, some songs in the lower top 20 will rocket up the chart on the 1st Jan whicvh will be fun to see. The likes of Katy Perry could well get new peaks!!
