Agreed  As far as I'm concerned, if STEPS can be relevant to 2011/2012 then anyone can with the right song and enough promo!

Natasha Bedingfield, Anastacia, Avril Lavigne, Charlotte Church... The list is endless

Anastacia could happen actually, she has a new song with Tiesto out soon which is quite good!

I've listened to Unwritten, These Words and Girlfriend today, so clearly I'm ready for them. :D

With not much out over the next few weeks, I hope the charts don't become too stale. I guess its really hard to judge at the moment though, TV seems to be obsessed with end of year charts at the moment, and I don't think I've seen any current stuff for a few weeks now  Guess everything will go back to normal this next week and I am sure Radio 1 will hopefully have a good clear out of their playlists on Wednesday.

I was expecting Goyte to take off, but its hardly doing anything at the moment, his music does sound a bit like Sting or Peter Gabirel on the ears.

At the moment the chart is looking a bit 80s-ish with the tracks climbing to #1 first Coldplay, and probably Flo Rida next.

Most people probably don't even know its out, it was brought forward at the last minute

The impact date is still set for the 6th February

Roll on A1's UK comeback :w00t:

An A1 comeback opportunity was missed when they weren't selected to represent Sweden with their incredible (imo obviously) song and they should have capitalised on Ben's success in CBB that year! Hopefully they can make something out of this year though and do well with something similar in sound to their last album.

Gotye will only take off once/if radio and tv pick it up, I have my fingers crossed that radio 1 will playlist in the next couple of weeks.

There really aren't many obvious #1s are there? Flo Rida perhaps next week but not sure it will be able to hold #1 for long. Swedish House Mafia could be big as well DJ Fresh in February. Will.I.Am, Flo Rida (Wild Ones) and Lana's newie will all do well but not sure which (if not) will reach the top.

Quite impressed that Alesha is doing well so far, maybe it could surprise us and go top 10 in the next few weeks?

Natasha Bedingfield had a single out last month which flopped!!

The new releases may well get caught up in the card frenzy and climb in the next week or so as sales get back to normal, a bit like Hello from last year!!

I can't even predict what could go to #1 after Flo Rida that's if he does, but at the moment its looking most likely, and the track will be the 6th #1 on a trot, I really want something that could stick around for a while, but I can't see anything just yet. Swedish House Mafia and Lana is a possibility, might get there just for a week as well.

So we have Taio Cruz, JLS and Alesha Dixon all T40, yet Michael Kiwanuka, Gotye and The Maccabees are nowhere close? Well, ain't that a shock

I think Taio still has a chance at #1 this week, since he seems to climbing very quickly. Isn't his album also out? If so, we could see Hangover shoot it's way up the chart as well :(

No longer sure about my prediction of Somebody That I Used to Know being a "long-running No.2 smash hit" Looks like it could be a slightly-more successful Pumped Up Kicks at the moment

By some miracle, a deserved number one for earthquake, at long last, please.

Why did they release it on the same day as Pro Green? Fail

It says on its release schedule that its released in March. But I agree, I think it could be cherry-picked enough to debut in the top 40. It's a few months until we have to worry about that though.
