December 31, 201114 yr We could be heading for the XF winner not even making the year end top 40 - has this ever happened before?
December 31, 201114 yr Author We could be heading for the XF winner not even making the year end top 40 - has this ever happened before? No- even Brookstein made it into 2004's Y/E chart!! (although that only took about 140k of sales!) Totals sales total come courtesy of Vidcapper!! Edited December 31, 201114 yr by Gezza76
December 31, 201114 yr No- even Brookstein made it into 2004's Y/E chart!! (although that only took about 140k of sales!) This has been a high selling year it looks like you had to sell 370,000 at least to get a sniff of the Top 40
December 31, 201114 yr Wow at the Spice Girls having 3 songs in the top 10! :o Like the BEPs in 2009 (although The Spice Girls were obvioulsy much bigger in terms of cultural impact and the media ). What's rather strange, is that I heard my little sister singing Ooh Aah Just a Little Bit the other day, even though she was born in 1997. Don't have a clue where she would've heard the song. I love Angel by Shaggy (I heard it on the radio the other day ). I Got High always makes me laugh aswell. And on that note, so does Don't Stop Movin' for a similar reason. Whenever I hear that song, I always remember one time when I was little, and they were saying on the radio that the guys from S Club 7 were caught doing drugs. My mum's reaction to it was a little bit OVER THE TOP, to say the least. In 2006, you can already see the US artists moving to electropop music (i.e. Sexy Back, Maneater and SOS). Mainly Timbaland's doing I guess. It's amazing looking at how well Sexy Back did, because so many people seemed to hate it when it was released. I preferred My Love though. I used to have the radio on in my room for hours basically waiting for them to play it.
December 31, 201114 yr I am not going to be counting down the chart this week, one week was enough :drama: Right Said Fred #4 in YTD chart with over 500k :o Not bad (in those days) for a #2! Edited December 31, 201114 yr by Griff

December 31, 201114 yr SexyBack is a modern classic IMO, a very good comeback record and I doubt "Shock Value" would have been so successful without it. Yeah, I like it too. I think it was mainly Justin Timberlakes original fanbase, expecting more RnB songs like Rock Your Body and Cry Me a River, but then he suddenly comes back and releases an electropop song. Same with Nelly Furtado's fans, who might've been expecting more stuff like I'm Like a Bird, but she comes out with Promiscuous, which is quite the opposite.
December 31, 201114 yr I wouldn't be listening to this if Reggie was doing it, but will be interesting to hear Tom Deacon giving it a go. I wonder whether he is being considered to take over from Reggie.
December 31, 201114 yr Also, have they started doing the full top 40 of the year in recent years? Can't remember. I always used to love listening to it on NYE in the 90s
December 31, 201114 yr Author 40-DAVID GUETTA FEATURING RIHANNA- WHO’S THAT CHICK? (373,800) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/54/Whos-that-chick-single.jpg PEAK POSITION: 6 WKS IN TOP 75: 24 PEAK POSITION SALES: 28,628 A prodigious year for Guetta which saw him accrue 7 top 20 hits, three of them making it to this rundown. This track was released in Dec 2010 but didn’t peak until this January with two different videos shot for the track. EvulQKVHoGc
December 31, 201114 yr Author Will anyone be posting a countdown? If not I'll do it :P yeah i pre-paired most of it! but I based on Vidcapper's sales and this one is slightly different! :o
December 31, 201114 yr That answers my question nicely :D Looks like this is different from the YTD top 40 as of last Sunday as posted by vidcapper (although probably not greatly so). Edited December 31, 201114 yr by Coldbray
December 31, 201114 yr Author 39- THE BLACK EYED PEAS- JUST CAN’T GET ENOUGH (373,300) http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-u824Ayw8ee4/TYIDQx_UTtI/AAAAAAAAARc/VcOl6gCLG0o/s400/black-eyed-peas-just-cant-get-enough-300x300.jpg PEAK POSITION: 3 WKS IN TOP 75: 14 PEAK POSITION SALES: 45,451 Second release from the album “The Beginning” and follow up to the chart topping “The Time (Dirty Bit)” in Dec 2010. The video was shot in Japan just one week prior to the Tsunami. l2SCzMG6id4 Edited December 31, 201114 yr by Gezza76
December 31, 201114 yr ^ That American Idol performance is so amazing. It shot to #1 on US iTunes after that! :D This is different to vidcapper's list. He has the BEPs () at #40 and David Guetta at #39. Both these two songs are so damn catchy tbh. Edited December 31, 201114 yr by Eric_Blob
December 31, 201114 yr Well, this started off a lot better than I was expecting. I haven't been paying close attention to vidcapper's lists, so while I know the general order of what's coming up, I wasn't expecting a couple of these in here. Who's That Chick and Just Can't Get Enough make for a great start. (I haven't heard either with the exception of my occasional play of them for ages) ETA: Read All About it already. Ok. Must have sold hardly anything, after its run at #1 then.
