She first struck it big featuring on Chipmunk’s “Diamond Rings” back in 2009 meaning that in actual fact, and in terms of top ten hits she outpaced Green! December 31, 201114 yr Glad I saw this thread, I didn't know this was on today :o the two songs to start with have aged terribly, I'm very surprised Who's That Chick managed to stay top 40 :o wow the number 38 has sold more than most of the top 5 for 2006  Edited December 31, 201114 yr by C.W
December 31, 201114 yr It's good that Professor Green and Emeli Sande managed to get such a big hit this year. They're both so talented. :)
December 31, 201114 yr Author 37- LMFAO – SEXY AND I KNOW IT (400,700) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/76/Sexy_and_I_Know_It_-_Single.png PEAK POSITION: 5 WKS IN TOP 75: 14 PEAK POSITION SALES: 44,318 Their second straight chart topper stateside making them the first duo to pull that trick since Outkast back in 2003. Redfoo is actually the son of Berry Gordy (former head of Motown) making him also the brother to Rockwell (80s popstar) and almost the son in law to Diana Ross who had a relationship with Gordy back in the 70s. iPzP-J_8AUc
December 31, 201114 yr Hmm, this is odd - there's no way this is still as low as #37 yet 39 and 40 swapped over?
December 31, 201114 yr Hmm, this is odd - there's no way this is still as low as #37 yet 39 and 40 swapped over? This is the YTD chart up to the 25/12.
December 31, 201114 yr Author Hmm, this is odd - there's no way this is still as low as #37 yet 39 and 40 swapped over? I don't know if the top 40 was updated this week so it could be that Vidcapper just guessed it wrong last week.
December 31, 201114 yr LMFAO are really the kinds of chart longevity. The song only peaked at #5, but it's already sold over 400,000, and is back at #4 on iTunes! :o And their US chart performance is even more impressive.
December 31, 201114 yr Just a flying visit, thanks for the topic, it seems different from Vidcapper's they must have used a different day for the cut off period, could have been yesterday. And I do prefer the YTD chart as a separate show away from the main chart show on Sundays, its so much better.
December 31, 201114 yr Author 36- CHIPMUNK FEATURING CHRIS BROWN (404,700) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d1/Chipmunk_Champion.jpg PEAK POSITION: 2 WKS IN TOP 75: 20 PEAK WEEK SALES: 91,249 Losing a midweek No 1 position to Jessie J Chipmunk narrowly failed to repeat the fate of 2009’s “Oopsy Daisy”. Chipmunk’s decision to feature Chris Brown was a brave one in light of the troubles Brown had been involved with a couple of years before that had resulted in Brown failing to get a top 10 hit in three years, but as it turned out 2011 was a good year for Brown as we’ll see later, for Chipmunk this was about it. 3VRfyEcx-kE
December 31, 201114 yr lol. So much for Champion being a non-#1. Firstly, it didn't get to #1, and secondly, it's sold loads and had a good chart run. This is actually Chipmunk's biggest hit now, but I preferred Oopsy Daisy. That song was really ahead of it's time, when you think about it. Slow rap songs with big female choruses are a big thing now, but they weren't when Chipmunk released Oopsy Daisy. December 31, 201114 yr I don't know if the top 40 was updated this week so it could be that Vidcapper just guessed it wrong last week. Another reason the sales could have been rather close from each other
December 31, 201114 yr Author 35- KATY PERRY FEATURING KANYE WEST- E.T (414,200) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/51/ETofficialKanyecover.jpg PEAK POSITION: 9 WKS ON TOP 75: 18 PEAK POSITION SALES: 52,988 Six singles have now been lifted from “Teenage Dream” each with the rule of diminishing returns being applicable. This was the fourth release and the fourth to make the top 3 (7th of her career). For West it was his first top 10 hit of the decade, a decade during which he was more famous for his microphone grabbing antics than his singing. A_ewi6WSFA8
December 31, 201114 yr ET is my least favourite Katy Perry song, and I'm a huge fan of hers. How it outsold Last Friday Night baffles me, thought it's probably due to Kanye West's appearance.
December 31, 201114 yr E.T.'s US success was mind-blowing to be quite honest. I love this song. In 2010 I didn't care for it, and was shocked when I heard it would be a single, but I love it now. Firework and Hot N Cold used to be my favourite Katy Perry songs, but I think E.T. is now, as I listen to it way more than those now.
December 31, 201114 yr Author 34- BEYONCE- BEST THING I NEVER HAD (415,200) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7e/Best_Thing_I_Never_Had.jpg PEAK POSITION: 3 WKS IN TOP 75: 19 PEAK POSITION SALES: 51,365 The only top 10 hit to come from the “4” album so far, Beyonce had a very active 2011, what with announcing her pregnancy and headlining Glastonbury. With a raft of videos made to promote her tracks before she took temporary retirement to have baby Beyonce, it may be a quiet for 2012 for the singer in the charts. This track was inspired by the 1985 top 10 hit “The Show” by Doug E. Fresh and lyrically a kind of “Irreplaceable Part II”. we7RekXA-fE
