Beyonce's album has been one of my favourites of the year tbh. So many songs I love on there, it's unreal. A very strong album for me, and I can understand why she says it's her favourite. She could've had an album full of songs like Telephone and Radio and had massive commercial success, but she didn't, and I have so much more respect for her for that.

I'm glad Champion is Chipmunk's biggest hit, it's my second favourite of his songs (I prefer 'Diamond Rings' but it's far better than Oopsy Daisy).

33- CALVIN HARRIS FEATURING KELIS – BOUNCE (415,200)

PEAK POSITION: 2

WKS IN TOP 75: 19

PEAK POSITION SALES: 66,920

Another track to lose a midweek No 1 position (this time to Example) it was the first of two No 2 hits for Harris this year, and a third No 2 for featured artist Kelis who’s never made it to the top yet. Thankfully Harris had better luck later in the year when he teamed up with Rihanna.

After what is best described as a “patchy” solo career up to 2010 this was the year that Scherzinger finally became a solo star. Originally demoed by Keri Hilson with Timbaland on production, Scherzinger took the song to the top of the charts in March with sales of 98K.

Woo! Don't Hold Your Breath! I think this will be my favourite song of the 40! Forgot it would be in here, to be honest.

31- DAVID GUETTA FEATURING FLO RIDA AND NICKI MINAJ- WHERE THEM GIRLS AT (435,700)

PEAK POSITION SALES: 55,959

After the chart topping success of 2010’s “Club Can’t Handle Me” Flo and Guetta teamed up once more for this track and again almost scored another No 1 hit. Released late in the week it fell between two stools so to speak being the best selling singles for some 4 or 5 days but over the weekend and thusly whilst it topped the midweek charts it couldn’t hold on for a “chart week”.

WHERE THEM GIRLS AT! Glad this is still the biggest hit from "Nothing But The Beat", sounds great in a club which is surely the point.

Bounce sounds like video game music. It was so strange when I first heard it.

I don't get why they have to cut tracks short. It's better than them missing them out altogether, but I would've thought they could fit all 40 into 3 hours.

Don't Hold Your Breath. :puke: BORING.

Right There, however, is one of my favourite songs of the year. I've had it on repeat for like 6 months. I just love that song so much, and I think it's Nicole's favourite single from the album.

Where Them Girls At was so disappointing for me. It's the same as the song he did with Akon. The fake version of it that leaked was better than this, since it at least sounded different and was slightly catchy.

So the #1s that haven't made this top 40 are:

Matt Cardle - When We Collide (sold the bulk of its sales last year though)

Rihanna feat. Drake - What's My Name? (ditto)

Ke$ha - We R Who We R

Jason Derülo - Don't Wanna Go Home (despite 2 weeks at #1!)

JLS feat. Dev - She Makes Me Wanna

Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger

Nero - Promises

Wretch 32 feat. Josh Kumra - Don't Go

Example - Stay Awake

Pixie Lott - All About Tonight

Dappy - No Regrets

Sak Noel - Loca People

The X Factor Finalists 2011 feat. JLS and One Direction - Wishing On A Star

Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight (will probably sell quite significantly in early 2012 though)

Little Mix - Cannonball (may sneak into the OCC's year end top 40 with the one extra week of sales though)

Almost bang on half of them then (15/31).

14/30 if you don't count Matt.

Until last week this was the track that sold the most copies at No 2 throughout 2011 (Little Mix beat it by 1,048 copies). For all of that it was still defeated by Professor Green. Revenge however comes in this year end chart where he outpaces the latter record.

37- LMFAO – SEXY AND I KNOW IT (400,700)

Their second straight chart topper stateside making them the first duo to pull that trick since Outkast back in 2003. Redfoo is actually the son of Berry Gordy (former head of Motown) making him also the brother to Rockwell (80s popstar) and almost the son in law to Diana Ross who had a relationship with Gordy back in the 70s.

Not brother, but half-brother. They have different mothers.

Not son-in-law, but he could have been a stepson if Berry Gordy Jr. and Diana Ross had married.

A son-in-law would be a man who married a child of Diana Ross. You seem a bit confused!

Labrinth is so amazing. ALL his instrumentals are amazing enough to cause earthquakes tbh (except Finish Line, which is also amazing, but it's a bit quiet ). And to top off his good instrumentals, he's also a good singer and song-writer. And he's started his own record label to sign UK artists to. I can't wait to see who he signs. He's also going to be producing for Little Mix's album.

That's quite a depressing list, to be honest. Most of them aren't particularly good #1s (about half the ones in the middle, that is), but still, it's a shame. I'm quite surprised Pixie and to a lesser extent JLS and Dappy didn't make it, I haven't been following the year-end charts, but those had some decent longevity. It was of similar length last year too, must have been.

Earthquake! So great this has held on and become a (party) classic, it's amazing.

With 10 songs in the top 75 during the year you can’t accuse her of being lazy. A rather colourful image has helped with keeping Minaj in the limelight as well as appearing with other artists including Britney and also, it would appear, on Madonna’s 2012 comeback.

It just failed to make the top 10, not that I suspect for one moment that that bothered Adele, she’s sold over 3.5 million copies of “21” from which this was lifted as its third single.

Not brother, but half-brother. They have different mothers.

Not son-in-law, but he could have been a stepson if Berry Gordy Jr. and Diana Ross had married.

A son-in-law would be a man who married a child of Diana Ross. You seem a bit confused!

And Sky Blu is the grandson of Berry Gordy apparently, which makes him Redfoo's nephew?

LMFAO have been in the music industry a long time. Redfoo was doing songs with the Black Eyed Peas like 10 years ago!!

Set Fire To The Rain! Wow, never mind not going top 10 then. Love it, my favourite Adele song by far.

The Skrillex mashup of this with "Kill Everybody" is so much more fun.

Set Fire to the Rain is going to be #1 in the US in a month or two by the looks of things!

This song is really good. I love the Thomas Gold remix and the Gilbere Forte remix. I prefer it to Someone Like You. It's just so epic.
