If "Summit" with Skrillex takes off it'll give her a good platform to launch her second album from. It'll be the second time her commercial fortunes have been saved by someone else's song, the first being "Your Song" of course. I actually thought that the other new songs on "Bright Lights" weren't particularly interesting, the first half of the standard album is very good though.

 

 

Ive always thought that Bright Lights was exceptionally better than Lights, made the whole thing much more cohesive.

As for Jessie J, yay :cheer: I know I'm not her biggest fan (understatement of the year) but I'm pleased that her two biggest hits look like being hwe only two songs that are sort of decent (in studio versions only, and Who You Are is decent if sung by someone else).

Should be a close battle between Jessie J & Flo Rida, expected Jessie to be number one earlier on in the day. Flo should be number one in tomorrow and Wednesday's midweeks. Jessie will need to have around a 20% lead come tomorrow/Wednesday as Flo Rida will pick up the momentum with the weekend effect.

Domino should easily get number 1 now, especially with the Brits nominations announced on Thursday - I never thought she'd get another number 1 this era tbh! but its a good song, so I'm glad

I'm sure if Jessie can stay at #1 and just increase her lead all through the week she'll hit #1 officially, as its only Monday night so got most of the week to build a healthy lead i'm sure. Could it be enough to push her album to #1 too? :o Sales are low, and it'll be great exposure with Domino going to #1, and its on sale for only a fiver and has the platinum edition out ofcourse.

Ive probably missed the discussion but not often a 6th album track can potentially score a #1

TBF though it's not on the original album, so it was always going to have a better chance for challenging to get to number 1, over the singles that were post album.

If you include re-releases, Telephone was a 6th single that got to #1 (and it also still holds the all-time record for longest top 100 climb to #1!! (I was thinking, maybe Gotye would beat it, but he's climbed into the top 40 already, so he's clearly not going to take over 17 weeks to get there now :lol:)).
