I refer Lose Yourself as his best/signature song really as it was really when he was at his peak imo (with Like Toy Soldiers and Just Lose It released around the time and going to #1) and it was the soundtrack to 8 mile, got him an Oscar (soundtrack) etc

I agree Stan is in a way as that really defined him as a big artist etc

I agree with that. I couldn't consider it Love the Way You Lie, because although it's his biggest-selling song, Eminem himself wasn't that popular in 2010. He wasn't relevent at all compared to in 2003, for example. His signature song would have to be one of the ones from that time period when he was like "ruling the world", so to speak.

My iTunes feed still hasn't updated. :drama: Cover Drive have probably fell to #3 or #4 by now, but I've still got them at #2.

He definitely was, at least where I live :P People at my school still talk about Eminem more than any other artist now and it's been one and a half years since 'Recovery' came out.

I think Eric just means in comparison to other eras. Eminem was MASSIVE between 2000-2003, a lot more than he was in 2010. In those years he chalked up 4 no.1 singles, 2 no.1 albums and released 8 Mile, it was easily when he was at his most popular even if he still is popular now.

I think the most talked about artist with people I associate with at the moment is Drake, but obviously he's just released an album, and he's in the news a lot at the moment.

Personally, I struggle to have conversations about Eminem at the moment. I found there used to be lots to talk about, but he doesn't put out much music anymore. He's not doing any remixes, he doesn't do mixtapes, he's not featuring on many songs, and he's completely absent from the media. He practically never even leaves his house. In contrast, you have someone like Lil Wayne who has a new song out on average once every 3 days. And the most recent Eminem song put on iTunes (Throw It Up) missed the top 900. :( Although looking at his discography, there's a lot to talk about nonetheless.

I def think eminem was massive in 2010, it was his big comeback after the damp squib of the Crack a bottle era in 2009.Love the way you lie is one of the biggest hits of his career and you have to give it to him for getting that 13 years after he burst onto the scene but its not his signature track or the peak of his career, it just proved how big an artist he has and still is!!

Unless your a massive fan of the genre though not many will pay attention to mixtapes and the like...its singles and albums that people take notice of.also lil wayne has never been massive in the uk compared to his home country, just one of them artists that does well when ft on others songs!

My feed has updated! :cheer:

Who is this awful Alyssa Reid woman and where did she come from? If she really does get #1 it'll be because it's such a dead week, I think if that Will.I.Am song gets an early release at the start of the week he'll do it, but neither are an inviting prospect. Sooo... come on 'Titanium'! :D

I loved her for a while so I'm glad she's looking to do well, but I do hope Titanium gets it.

Alyssa was on a Candian TV show called The Next Star, which is a bit like X-Factor/Idol except the contestants are under 15. Obviously as I'm in the UK I didn't watch it but Wikipedia says she only came 6th - fast forward a few years and she's looking like having a UK hit. Previously her only charting singles were in Canada - Alone Again to 11 I think and The Game something like 25. I have no idea how 'hype' has built up in the UK but there you go.

Alyssa only at #25. Knew she wouldn't be a contender for the #1 spot at all, just like Lana Del Rey. Another dreary song by a 'credible' female artist predicted to be a big hit but already failing to live up to expectations. :D

Pfft!!! Oh well, here's next weeks official UK #1 then (combined sales will push the song further up)

I don't hate it but compared to the original by Heart, Alyssa's vocals on the chorus are so dull and lifeless. I can only see this going to #1 on iTunes and "do a Cover Drive" where by next weekend it'll have been overtaken by something like 'Titanium'.

So Ayllsa goes 01-03 (or lower) in her second week. 'Titanium' goes 02-02 (new 'Moves Like Jagger' right here!!! -_- )

em, have you heard the song by any chance? Alyssa Reid and Lana Del Rey couldn't be any more different

I'm not sure yet whether Alyssa will get to #1 for now. 15.00, and she's at #25 - it's not THAT massive. I think 'Titanium' will make it.

I agree  Alyssa is quite generic actually, whereas Lana IS credible.

So that's just me, Eyes and Ryan741 happy Alyssa could be no.1 then? :P Lots of hate seems to be emerging for her :(

Rooting for Titanium to get the top spot this week :) Alone Again is so boring. I don't like the sample either. I'm all for samples and covers of songs but she really doesn't deliver.

We also have madonnas new song next Friday, but that release day may stop her getting to no1 like Born this Way last February!!

Well, the song is probably going to debut at its peak, so everybody will hate her. :drama:

I'm pretty sure Titanium will be #1 this week anyway. It's got a huge lead.

It's out on Friday!? :o Wow. I don't think she'll have a Born This Way situation though. I think she'll debut at like #8 or something, and then the song will climb to #1 some weeks later if people like it (based on the demo version I heard, it doesn't sound very good :(). I know this is Madonna we're talking about, but I can't see her doing even half as well as Born This Way first week.

I think the fact that it's Madonna will stop her getting to #1. If she gets top 10 on iTunes I'll be shocked.
