February 4, 201213 yr Come on now everyone, It's OK is a little tune. ''You ain't keeping me up all night, no more. You're not here but it's OK'' breaks my small heart. And then to have the song backed up by such a happy, summery feeling makes it even more melancholic. I guess it's 'cause I can relate to it 'cause my best friend moved away to the other side of the country when I was little.
February 4, 201213 yr Atomic Kitten are probably my third favourite band ever (The Sats and 1D are ahead). Loads of great songs, but also great memories attached to them from when I was younger. They're not my 9th played artist on last.fm for no reason. :)
February 4, 201213 yr Despite how much I love a good comeback, didn't these chicks come back a few years ago with some terrible charity song that limped in at like #70? Atomic Kitten I feel (Whole Again aside) are more know for their fabulous covers... The Tide Is High, Eternal Flame, Ladies Night (I think that's a cover... :P) mainly... A Liberty X reunion would be more welcome, I've had Just A Little and Holding On For You stuck in my head ALL DAY!
February 4, 201213 yr 'Be With You' and 'The Last Goodbye' was an amazing Double A Side, one of their best releases. 'It's OK!' too.
February 4, 201213 yr Author My faves are: Someone Like Me wEUAsupI0w4 Strangers sA9Odj4W7lE And Follow Me YVmngi0pr9A And all the other singles..
February 5, 201213 yr Ooft. Love me some Atomic Kitten. One of my favourite groups! All their albums are good or brilliant. 'Ladies Night' is definitely up there as one of my favourite albums. I do feel that some of their singles are definitely weaker than most of their respective albums, album tracks though. 'You Are' and 'Follow Me' are the underrated gems in their back catalogue! I don't think they'll top 'I Won't Be There', 'Nothing In the World' or 'Always Be My Baby' for me though.
February 5, 201213 yr These are more the responses I expected/hoped for! I really really do not see the appeal at all. They're SO out of date it's UNREAL, I mean I know Steps are the same but Atomic Kitten weren't even good then... Whole Again is fabulous admittedly, but it's the only of their songs I'd actually even dream of going back to. I just can't envisage you NOT enjoying the Ladies Night album, it was perfect pop! The singles were awful representations of the album, as Jonjo says the likes of I Won't Be There, Always Be My Baby, Nothing In The World and I'll throw in Believer too were all more worthy of a release than what they actually put out. You should give it a listen. I wouldn't bother with Feels So Good as that album lived up their reputation of being nice but bland. Right Now was more edgy and also definitely worth a listen, although admittedly most of that album was pushed as a single by either incarnation of the group  I find it odd that there's so much dislike for them in this topic/on Buzzjack yet Tone Damli and Carly Rae Jepsen are expected to storm BJSC, Atomic Kitten were basically those two singers in a group form  I could quite feasibly imagine Tone singing the majority of their more MOR singles, or Atomic Kitten tackling her No Way Out album, neither would be a departure from either act's sound.
February 5, 201213 yr I think I can quite safely say I'd rather stab my ears than listen to Kerry Catona snort her way through Butterflies. If ever there was a band that never needed to reform, it's Atomic Kitten.
February 5, 201213 yr Well I'm sat here listening to Billie Piper right now, so I guess I can't be criticising Atomic Kitten now  I just always fouund them so pointless, I do agree they are kind of similar to Tone but I'm with Silas, I wouldn't have Kerry Katona even touching Butterflies... Tone is amazing, and AK just... aren't. In my opinion anyway, I'm sure people will love them reforming. Edited February 5, 201213 yr by Liаm
February 5, 201213 yr I think I can quite safely say I'd rather stab my ears than listen to Kerry Catona snort her way through Butterflies. If ever there was a band that never needed to reform, it's Atomic Kitten. I'm talking about AK 2.0, I can't stand Kerry, they got 100 shades better the minute she walked out of the band. And 100 times more successful, the news of Jenny's arrival was followed up a few days later with their first #1 single  Well I'm sat here listening to Billie Piper right now, so I guess I can't be criticising Atomic Kitten now  Tbf I may have been a bit harsh, they're aren't quite as bad as I say. The Tide Is High isn't bad either. I'll give a listen to the highlights Rich and Jonjo pointed out tomorrow, just because :P They got a hard time for not being as original as Sugababes or Girls Aloud which I FULLY agree with, but it doesn't stop me preferring Right Now and Ladies Night to any album that either of these two produced (despite me liking GA the most overall ultimately!). Quoted before an edit there, oops! Still, do give those songs a listen as I'd like to hear what you think!
February 5, 201213 yr 'Turn Me On' is brilliant. I think it was definitely the inspiration behind 'Be With You'. I do think they should comeback with something equally as good as BWY. I could see that being somewhat a decent hit and working out for them. Or just work with Max Martin and/or Dr. Luke and you're bound to get a hit. I love 'Feels So Good' though. :o Although I can definitely see what you mean about it and it only really appealing to the fans and I can't see it appealing to anyone else other than the die hard fans...

Don't get me wrong, I really like Feels So Good - but it wouldn't do anything to make the haters think otherwise  Right Now and Ladies Night were so much more than the generally weak single choices from both, the latter especially! To me, I don't call Atomic Kitten pointless, I just think of them as the Katy Perry to Sugababes' Rihanna and GA's Gaga. They were no frills pure pop, less interesting than the other two perhaps but they were still there to serve a purpose and had just as big a fanbase at the time, certainly in 2001 and 2002 they were just as big in the UK as the other two. They were the girlband for the MOR radio crowd that ate up The Corrs a few years earlier, and that's exactly why I loved them so much
February 5, 201213 yr I did like a couple of the songs they put out back in 01/02, but of the Girlbands from that era, they suited that era and I don't really think a reunion is really worth it. They aren't particularly remembered for their MOR-influenced Throwaway Pop and a comeback without much nostalgia or one where there isn't a general feeling of unfinished business (unlike Take That/Steps/1.0) I don't think is particularly worth it.

I wouldn't say that 1.0 rank alongside the others just yet in the minds of Joe Public, 2.0 obviously would but 1.0 were more of a cult act than anything, with the exception of Overload. Although I should add that I wouldn't for one minute expect this AK reunion to be a success, but from a selfish point of view I'd like to see them making music again!
February 5, 201213 yr They are firmly in the Unfinished Business category  This year is going to be good.
February 5, 201213 yr They are firmly in the Unfinished Business category  This year is going to be good. That they are, I just hope that they find a decent name, I wish they could just have Sugababes back and let the fakes rot
February 6, 201213 yr many of the new mixes they've included are available on I-tunes already in the "Access All Areas: Remixed & B-sides" album! They're not adding much really IMO.
February 6, 201213 yr The only song I like of theirs are 'The Last Goodbye' and 'Be With You' - the rest was really average MOR pop imo. It always astounded me how they did so well really, especially with dirge like 'If You Come To Me', 'Love Doesn't Have To Hurt' and their covers of 'Eternal Flame' and 'The Tide Is High'.
February 6, 201213 yr I love Atomic Kitten..I think they have left it late for a comeback but I do hope this is true, would love to see them back together again :yahoo:
February 6, 201213 yr I knew it, that Atomic Kitten compilation is made by the people who did the recent two disc Greatest Hits of All Saints. Very good, and as much as I love Atomic Kitten, I don't think I'd really be interested unless there'd be new material really.
