February 5, 201214 yr Scooter, Kraftwerk, Fragma, York and Sash! spring to mind Loads of German soloists have done it - ATB, Lena Meyer-Landrut, Nicole, Lou Bega etc... Oh how could I forget about those: Sash, Fragma, ATB

February 5, 201214 yr Turn Me On has like the most random chart run ever. Reggie's totally right though, they do all sound the same... Only Girl, Wet, Troublemaker, Night of Your Life...
February 5, 201214 yr "We've got a feeling that loads of people bought this by accident" No Reggie, the video premiered earlier in the week. That's why. Though I do like this, I do think this is one of the better uses of autotune out there at the moment and the chorus sounds huge. It's just such a smash I'm not surprised it's re-entered so quickly.
February 5, 201214 yr So it seems most German bands that have broken through in the UK are dance bands, with the occasional heavy metal band thrown in for good measure :P 'Turn Me On' remains really average, don't get the huge praise for this over the likes of Where Them Girls At and Little Bad Girl, both of which I prefer massively.
February 5, 201214 yr So glad this and Titanium have had the chart success they deserve, the 2 best songs on Nothing But The Beat by a long way. Aside from WTGA, I have no idea why those other 2 singles were released as a pose to the next 2.
February 5, 201214 yr So it seems most German bands that have broken through in the UK are dance bands, with the occasional heavy metal band thrown in for good measure :P The Germans were very strong in dance music in the 90s.
February 5, 201214 yr Turn Me On  This and 'Titanium' are absolutely amazing, best thing Guetta's done since 'When Love Takes Over' imo.

Most mainland European music that breaks through full stop is dance music. Radio seem reluctant to support pop/rock from these countries, but dance seems to be the one exception to the rule for whatever reason.
February 5, 201214 yr I really shouldn't like this, but I do   on another note, I had no idea R.I.O were german, the song sounds so American :o Edited February 5, 201214 yr by C.W
February 5, 201214 yr 32 (from 26) Ed Sheeran - Lego House [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/ASYLUM21CD.JPG Chart Run: 71-30-18-12-6-5-5-7-7-10-9-14-7-13-17-22-26-32 [18 wks] Release date: 14-11-2011 Format: CDS Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: ASYLUM21CD Label: atlantic Video here: c4BLVznuWnU Chart history (Year peak title): 2011 03 The A Team 2011 04 You Need Me I Don't Need You 2011 29 Drunk 2011 05 Lego House 2011 24 Teardrop (Official Children In Need Single 2011) (The Collective Feat. February 5, 201214 yr Great to see 'Turn Me On' back in the T40 - although the only promotion it's going to get is from the video - if the radio pick it up, that means dropping 'Titanium' and I'd much rather see 'Titanium' rack up some good sales - it's one of the standout tracks from 2011 and likely the same for 2012.
February 5, 201214 yr As a side note, R.I.O. ARE actually Cascada under a different name aren't they? Reggie said Manian and Yanou, who are the two thirds of Cascada that aren't Natalie
February 5, 201214 yr Turn Me On has such power in the chorus, brilliant that it's doing well so soon after Titanium. Lego House falling, but no longer overplayed either, good. I hope Drunk is as high as possible this week, probably top 15, I haven't really been following its progress throughout the week.
February 5, 201214 yr M83 seems to be staying put due to radio 1 alisting it and possibly its use in the bbc ad....wish it would peak higher than 34!!
February 5, 201214 yr This remains my favourite song by Ed, however I want it to just leave the top 40 now as I don't want to get bored of it. I still find every single other song on the album incredibly average, although he does have a great voice.
February 5, 201214 yr It would explain so much if Nicki Minaj was really an android... I actually prefer her singing to her rapping.
