March 11, 201214 yr Really hoping any of the trio of '212'/'Bad Girls'/'Rack City' have made the top 40 today but I doubt any of them have. (They *should* all enter next week if they don't today though, fingers crossed). A random thing just struck me - with Bruce Springsteen likely to get the #1 album today, Ed Sheeran is the odd one out of the artists with #1 albums so far this year: all of them are solo artists, but for males Bruce and Bruno both start with 'Bru' and for females, as I pointed out last week, we've had Adele, Lana Del Rey and Emeli Sandé whose real name is Adele. Freaky. Does anyone have a list of the members of Military Wives? If there's an Adele anywhere in there and they climb to #1 next week... (I'll go back to my hole now after that ) Edited March 11, 201214 yr by Engelbré
March 11, 201214 yr The Bee Gees really did have a consistently big hit for their standards. Great song too. Love "Who Do You Think You Are?" SO much. "Mama" not nearly as good.
March 11, 201214 yr Awww. A year since Black and Yellow debuted in the UK. Still bumping that tune so much now. The Sweet Escape was ROBBED of that #1 spot. Shine is a great song though, and it gave up Who'd Have Known, which gave us 5 O'Clock, so I CAN'T COMPLAIN there. 2007's whole top 10 is great tbh. And Timbaland with two songs in the top 10 (What Goes Around and Say It Right). He was on FIRE. We need him back asap. So many potential entires this week. Stooshe, Tinchy Stryder, Marcus Collins, Taio Cruz, Rihanna, LMFAO, Azealia Banks, M.I.A., Drake, Tyga, Dot Rotten. And I actually love most of these songs too, for a change!!!! :o Most of them are going to end up in the #30-#50 area though, so many of them probably won't make it. :(
March 11, 201214 yr That Military Wives album cover is vile, it looks like a propaganda poster. Fitting really.
March 11, 201214 yr Shouldn't the subtitle be 'a person to whom I was formerly acquainted'? From the man who just adjusted Lana Del Rey to drop an e to fit his theory on chart topping Adele's?? :o
March 11, 201214 yr From the man who just adjusted Lana Del Rey to drop an e to fit his theory on chart topping Adele's?? :o It's about the sounds, not the spelling :kink:
March 11, 201214 yr Author Shouldn't the subtitle be 'a person to whom I was formerly acquainted'? Possibly - I bow down to your grammar, Bre.
March 11, 201214 yr Possibly - I bow down to your grammar, Bre. I'm hardly an expert but saying 'I had an acquaintance of [blah]' sounds wrong to me  IDK really. Come to think of it maybe 'with whom' is better than 'to whom'. I never really know about prepositions. Edited March 11, 201214 yr by Engelbré
March 11, 201214 yr I hope The Fray have managed to hold on to the top 40 in the album charts. :( Their album discography has went #4, 8 and now potentially #39 or something. :(

March 11, 201214 yr Hey all, retro faves :D 2011 01. (1) Adele - Someone Like You (95,654) 02. (2) Jessie J - Price Tag ft BoB (75,524) 05. (-) Wiz Khalifa - Black And Yellow (32,709) Decent enough, incredibly catchy and I expected it to go top 3 at least! Very urban chart this time last year 07. (7) Alexis Jordan - Good Girl (27,600)* 09. (5) Adele - Rolling In The Deep (25,600)* 2007 01. (1) Take That - Shine (27,000) 02. (3) Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape (25,955) 05. (5) Fray - How To Save A Life (18,300)* 06. (4) Mika - Grace Kelly (17,100)* 07. (16) Camille Jones/Fedde Le Grande - The Creeps (16,800)* 08. (6) Kelis - Lil Star (15,500)* 10. (11) Nelly Furtado - Say It Right (14,100)* The first ever download only top ten not to get a physical release wasn't it? I wish it had as it would have been her fourth consecutive top five hit, I'm sure of it 2002 02. (2) Shakira - Whenever Wherever (83,000) 03. (3) Enrique Iglesias - Hero (54,000)* 05. (4) Lasgo - Something (49,000)* Missed last week's thread, 2002 was THE year for Belgian dance music, and this was the cream of the crop chartwise 06. (-) Rik Waller - I Will Always Love You (48,074) Ugh. Possibly the worst cover version of all time. People parted with their hard earned cash for this? 07. (6) Westlife - World Of Our Own (42,000)* 09. (-) City High - Caramel ft Eve (31,000)* No What Would You Do but it wasn't bad, pretty good sales for a #9 in 2002. 1997 01. (-) Spice Girls - Mama/Who Do You Think You Are? (248,000) Always loved Mama way more than Who Do You Think You Are, I know pretty much everyone else feels the opposite! 02. (1) No Doubt - Don't Speak (84,000) 04. (4) Sash! - Encore Une Fois (67,000)* 08. (3) Eternal - Don't You Love Me (36,000)* 09. (8) No Mercy - Where Do You Go (31,000)* 10. (-) Ant And Dec - Shout (24,000)* Nice sample, and that's about it, When I Fall In Love was their career highlight (besides Let's Get Ready To Rumble of course) and didn't even go top ten!
