Is the UK the only country that hasn't fully adopted oa/os? What other countries delay songs for months before releasing?

UK acts hold back stuff in Ireland but I think pretty much everything else is OA/OS over here. So you're on your own!

I can't answer 100% this question but I have to add that in every country the charts are compiled differently and OA/OS affects the charts differently.

I think in Germany not all songs are OA/OS, for example Lloyd - Dedication To My Ex has been released only 2-3 weeks ago.

Where's Charlie at?

94. Bring 'Em Down - Lostprophets

I'm certain this was released ages ago though? And before that it was released as a free download? Or was that a different Lostprophets song...

No, you're quite right. It was available as a free download, then released shortly after as an iTunes download - charted at #165. Has now been re-released and looks likely to peak inside the top 100, so a good move on their behalf; especially as Radio 1 have been supporting it.

Hoping they can turn this album around though and a produce a hit or two from it, 'Bring 'Em Down' was doomed from the start as fans of the band are likely to already own it, I know I do.

EDIT: Checked my iTunes, it was 'Better Off Dead' that was released as a free download.

Go Sean Paul! It'd be AMAZING if this could go to #1 next week. There's literally nothing significant released next week although if a video for Starships finally surfaces that MIGHT challenge as well (but then a video premiere did jack shit for Part Of Me so not necessarily).

Brilliant to see Greyhound back on the climb, I really hope it's just doing a 'Sweat'/'Little Bad Girl' and will still have a chance of going top 10.

Yes! Just checked and there really is nothing next week. Never thought i'd be rooting for Sean Paul to get a #1 in 2012 :w00t:

Will be happy if Nicki gets it too. Do we know exactly when she is releasing the video? I think its either this Friday or next iirc...

Beez In The Trap is out on 3rd April. I'd imagine Starships would be out first since it was filmed first. Hopefully it will be out on Friday!

It better be out Friday... we've waited long enough. Suppose we shouldn't be complaining, I'm still waiting on a Girls Fall Like Dominoes video

Didn't they film that? I seem to remember they did but then it just never came.

If Chris Brown gets it this week then he's got it, I'd rather not have two dreadful #1s but yeah, I'd prefer Sean Paul over the two this week definitely.

 What a dreadful scenario of a top 2.

This year's been rather shit at the top of the charts hasn't it? Much worse than last year.

People say this every year

I thought the general consensus around here was that the top of the charts are generally a massive improvement over last year with highly BuzzJack friendly songs like Paradise, Titanium and Somebody That I Used To Know being #1s, but a comment like this had to come sooner or later :kink:

It's "Better Off Dead" that you're thinking of, "Bring 'Em Down" was only released on Sunday.

I strongly dislike STIUTK and mildly dislike Pardise though! Last year we had Ke$ha, Nicole Scherz, Adele and RiRi at #1 and this year the only #1 I remember being good is Titanium.

I'd much rather listen to last years run of number 1's. 'What's My Name?', 'Grenade', 'We R Who We R', 'Price Tag', 'Someone Like You' and'Don't Hold Your Breath' over this years run of 'Paradise', 'Good Feeling', 'Domino', 'Twilight', 'Titanium', 'Somebody That I Used To Know', 'Hot Right Now' and 'Part Of Me'...

I'd rank them as something like...

FAVOURITE:

01| 'Price Tag'

02| 'What's My Name?'

03| 'Twilight'

04| 'Someone Like You'

05| 'Titanium'

06| 'Domino'

07| 'Don't Hold Your Breath'

08| 'Grenade'

09| 'Part Of Me'

10| 'Paradise'

11| 'Hot Right Now'

12| 'Good Feeling'

13| 'We R Who We R'

14| 'Somebody That I Used To Know'

LEAST FAVOURITE

The top 5 are all excellent though. 6-8 are good, but now boring. 'Part Of Me' is decent-ish. 'Paradise' is practically my favourite Coldplay song, by default. (Well 2nd, behind 'Princess Of China'). 11-13 are average and 'Somebody That I Used To Know' is just terrible and overrated.

Off topic but Olly Murs is supporting One Direction on tour in the US. :o Wonder if he'll be the next British breakthrough.

Wild Ones  to #6

iLL Manors  to #7

Let the free falling commence. :( Can't see this spending more than four weeks in the top 40 now.

33. If You Wanna - The Vaccines

GRAB THAT TOP 40 SMASH :cheer:

That fake version of We Are Young (the one that was in the T200) looks to have been deleted. There's another one left at #581
