May 1, 201214 yr I'm quite shocked at Marina being #1, I was expecting another low top 5 position - of course her sales will probably be pretty appalling for a #1 but whatever they are they'll probably still be higher than I expected! Will be interesting to see how far Jack White falls this week, he could still be #2 (or #3/4 depending on Norah and/or Lana) but I wouldn't be that surprised if he's already fallen behind Adele despite beating her 2.5-1 last week. Who would have thought Marina would even be in contention for a #1 with her second album though when the seemingly massively hyped first one only got to #5 and all of her singles underperformed :o What sales did TFJ open with? I would have been shocked if Marina hadn't been #1 - Norah Jones was her only real competition.

May 2, 201214 yr I'm expecting Marina to open with about 25k and at number 1 now (although I get a gut feeling Adele will somehow overtake <_<) . I was thinking more along the lines of another #5 with sales of about 14k a week or so ago! So she's exceeding my expectations. Deservedly so, too. Such a strong sophomore album. Hopefully she manages to maintain that position throughout and the sales be a little higher than 25k. Anything above the opening sales of her debut would be lovely.
