It's been quite a busy week for me, so not had time to iloon, but looking now I'm glad Avicii has climbed to 22, also :cheer: at Coldplay at number 3, maybe they could be a darkhorse and get number 1 within the next few weeks? You never know!

On another note, I'm not sure what so appealing about Payphone, I just can't get into it. Even if it does go number 1, it still won't outsell MLJ.

Roses Are Red? :P

The success of Precision Tunes is a FIASCO. I was talking to gooddelta on Twitter and we're both agreed that they need to bring back On Air, On Sale immediately and make it mandatory for all labels.

AGREED

Surely that method is the way forward, seeing as the situation with the fake Payphone has just become laughable

And if on-air on-sale does become mandatory, then all we need to do is somehow get radio stations to start varying their playlists more, and maybe the charts won't move so friggin' slowly :D

Can't get over Payphone! Just pleased it's too late for Maroon 5 to release it and get a number 1 this week.
Making OA/OS mandatory would take away one element from the charts in that you'd no longer have the clash of different release strategies (see Gotye vs will.i.am) although it would be far more democratic and potentially more profitable if done right.
OA/OS only really works for major artists or international artists. Not at all for the British ones. (Unless you're now Adele). I believe this is down to illegal downloading. For example: It was harder to find a HQ/iTunes rip of Cheryl 'Call My Name' than it was for me to find Maroon 5 'Payphone'. This is probably because M5 are available worldwide and Cheryl wasn't, so we have no choice but to wait if we're wanting a good/decent quality of it. It seems to be the case for most songs too. It took an absolute age to find a proper HQ version of 'All About Tonight' by Pixie too!

I think OA/OS can be made to work for British artists but they all need to be doing it and it can be fine if they're given the right push. I mean, American artists manage to breakthrough in the States even with the system (because everyone uses it).

OA/OS may make the charts slower but I'd like to see tracks slowly climbing to #1. Some of the biggest hits of these past couple of years have climbed up to #1, Gotye, fun. & LMFAO just being a few examples.

Still clinging to the hope that 'Payphone' can manage #1 even after this. Carly & Flo have done fine it seems but they never got this high with their fake versions.

The fake Payphone could be a blessing in disguise, as the song might underperform next week so record labels will be scared to hold back songs for so long now. Everything being on air, on sale would make the charts even slower than they are now though, but it's not a big deal.
If anyone sees "Don't Stop Believin" (yes its back again) on iTunes its due to the movie Rock Of Ages :D and probably a few 80s rock tracks appearing, "We Built This City" "I Love Rock & Roll", "Wanted Dead Or Alive", "Sweet Child O'Mine", "Sugar On Me" and many others
"Dark Side" to #35. It's been climbing slowly, but consistently, since yesterday morning. It should be comfortably in the top 40 come Sunday!
I really don't understand fake versions of big songs. If you really like the song that much, wouldn't you want to wait a few weeks for the proper version instead of some shite cover? It's literally throwing money down the drain. Everyone is so impatient these days-you can bet as soon as the real Payphone is available, they'll want to download a cover version of the next 'big tune'. People baffle me, they really do.

Paloma is back up to #15 :o Has she performed somewhere recently?

Trey Songz up to #18, he's nearly as high as he got on US iTunes with this song now!

Avicii at #22, maybe it'll re-peak next week if it's still 59p :D

Tyler still holding strong at #33, should stay top 40.

'No Church In The Wild' #44, wish this would go top 40 already :(

Album versions of 'Scream' and 'Climax' at #51 and #52 respectively, didn't realise they'd got this high. 'Lemme See' at #72 as well.

'Shake It Out' back at #53 with the 59p effect :D This could end up selling as much as 'Dog Days Are Over' if it continues to stick around. 'Creep' back at #94 from the 59p effect too

'AKA... What A Life!' (on an ad I think) back at #78

'Pumped Up Kicks' is back at #98, anyone know why?

Paloma was on Loose Women today and Usher performed Pumped Up Kicks during his Live Lounge on BBC Radio 1 yesterday :)

Does anyone know what happened to Blue??

It's all gone quiet after Eurovision even though they were apparently pressing ahead with a new single and album..

I can't remember where I read it, but I'm sure it said that Blue had just about finished their new album. I have no idea where I read it, but I'm sure I did somewhere! :kink:

Dirty Talk  #88

I guess this is 59p? I might actually download it, I saw it on 4music this morning and it is so much better than I thought it was! :cheer:

So pleased for Paloma! Glad she's managed to make a genuine hit out of 'Picking Up the Pieces'! Even with the Radio 1 backing I was doubting whether it'd actually have any sort of longevity.
Yep. Filling in for Rihanna or something. 'Where Have You Been' could have gone back inside the top 10! :( (If it's not already back in there)
