Do you think its going to be bigger than Starships?

No. :P This is turning into the Where Have You Been situation where before its release people were predicting it to be bigger than We Found Love when that was never going to happen. It'll be very difficult for Nicki to beat Starships in sales, airplay and popularity. 'Pound The Alarm' sounds very similar to Starships, so that will ruin its chances of being as big as it.

Well anyone predicting WHYB to be bigger than We Found Love was an idiot really but this has a smaller mountain to climb. I think it could get RELATIVELY close to Starships but I don't think it will be bigger. What has Starships sold by now?

According to the YTD thread it has sold 645,000.

Kelly Clarksons album Stronger is reduced at £4.99 and up to #21. Hopefully climbs into top 30 on the official chart. :)

Check this out, it might do well if it gets onto the radio 1 playlist and the video is good as well.

We don't need more crap music to do well. That's horrendous.

It sounds like In the Dark by Dev.

And with regards to Nicki, I think Starships is the biggest hit she's ever going to have. She's peaked now. She's never going to get a hit as big as that ever again (although I do hope I'm wrong, as it's pretty much the LAST song I want to be her biggest hit, but oh well ).

67. Nicki Minaj feat Chris Brown - Right By My Side

70. Nicki Minaj - Pound The Alarm

Still not happy that Right By My Side never took off here. It's getting an okay amount of airplay on TV, obviously this country prefers Pop/Dance Nicki which is a shame. Pound The Alarm should overtake it tomorrow though. It's weird how RBMS has been hanging around 60-70 every week though and has struggled to get above there.

If she had the video all ready and set for release, I'd say yeah, but since she hasn't, probably not. It's still gonna be around for ages and sell by the bucket load, though.

The WFL/WHYB vs. Starships/PTA comparisons are stupid. One artist sells a shit load of albums, the other one doesn't.

WHYB was never going to be as big as WFL because the album had sold loads by the point of WHYB's official release. PTA could easily at LEAST match Starship's sales because nobody is buying the album, and it's only the second official single.

So...

What will everybody's excuses be if Pound the Alarm fails to top 500,000 sales by the end of the year?

Why is Runaway Baby back in the top 100?

I really think Bruno could've stretched a LOT more singles out with that album tbh (not that I wanted him to, but still ). I think Count On Me and Talking to the Moon could've also gone top 40, even without music videos, as long as Radio 1 and Capital both played them.

It's being used in a very colourful car advert.

Oh Avicii still around #20. I hope it can outpeak #26 on the official chart this Sunday :D

Thanks! :D They should 59p it aswell while it's getting that promo, it would send it back in the top 40 imo.
