I try to avoid sending stuff from Scandipop like the plague these days now everyone knows about it. There's no point in sending anything from there given it's barely going to be a discovery, it's become too well known...

I think there's still the odd song on there that slips under the radar, for the first time I sourced my entry from Scandipop and beyond 1 personal chart I haven't seen a mention of it.

Quite a few times I've found a song which I consider entering through other means and then find out it's on Scandipop too! I reckon Orion has been entered and made it past the veto as a lot of the 'hype' behind it is people saying it's going to do well when they're not interested in sending it.

I've discovered that my entry has been featured on Scandipop in the last month, while I found it somewhere completely separate from there. It's the first time I've used a Scandipop-featured entry since last year (mainly because I haven't ventured into Scandinavia for my entries very often) but it's the sort of song I'd never expect to see on there either. It's a case of NOT MEANING to use the blog that EVERYONE knows about.

I've avoided scandipop this month too. Luckily I've managed to find another 'Buzzjack friendily' blog and I've already got about 4 potential entries including my current selection.

Not every song on Scandipop gets too well-known. Like John says above, my entry is sourced from scandipop this time round but I haven't seen any mention of it anywhere on the forum. Either because people don't like it (I hope not!) or they just haven't paid any attention to it!
Most of the stuff on Scandipop is shite anyway so THANK GOD people are coming to their senses! :P
Yes people, Please do abandon Scandipop.com as a source for greener pastures. It'll save me from finding a new source :kink:
It doesn't seem like a big problem if someone sends a song that's been featured on Scandipop, and it definitely shouldn't be considered vetoed because of that. I don't send entries through that blog, so if my song does feature there (Thea Oskarsen did, but I found her before her song got posted on there), I wouldn't want to be called uninspired, lazy or cheap - as apparently several people do experience likewise and it's not like most people who participate in this contest follow that blog closely or even listens to or like EVERY song on there. (Especially now with the hipster smoothie takeover and all) I mean it's a decent blog and scandipop lovers love it for obvious reasons, but should scandipop generally be frowned upon now, just because it's featured on a blog spesificially for that genre? If it's good it's BOUND to be there sooner or later, and we should be able to send that type of music without being "judged" or anything  :drama:
I don't by any means think something featured on Scandipop should be an automatic veto, and I've sent stuff from there in the past, both before and after it's been featured on there. I just no longer primarily get my entries from there as it's not particularly inspired anymore now so many people use it.

Confirmed! I can't say I'm worried its already been taken

in regards to where you find your entries, I've so far found all my entries on Digital Spy's '10 Tracks You Need to Hear At The Moment' (and obviously avoiding the obvious smashes), apart from this one however, although it was how I discovered the artist.

I have never once been on Scandipop, and don't intend to in all honesty, it all seems to be one genre? I like sending a variety of songs regardless of whether they'll do well.

Mine have been from a variety of different sources but I've found the most of my entries through searching far and wide on YouTube. Although my most successful entry (Geronimo) came from Scandipop :kink:
I haven't used Scandipop since Flares, which slipped right under the radar anyway as it popped up on a bumper day of posts and nobody really noticed/commented on it  SO many people seem to read it on here that it seems worthless to use now. Also, Orion NEEDS a veto.

I really don't think someone has sent Orion now because well....if Diandra and Purity Ring got vetoed, it gives no chance for Orion NOT being vetoed. I know people who were considering on sending it but pulled out due to the pre-hype for it and know it's a guaranteed veto.

Nowadays it seems as if there's always a Scandipop gem every month in the contest, but these gems are overhyped, only go Top 10 and don't seem to be even close to winning it.

I find my entries through my own discoveries. The last one ('Different Pulses') was tipped on a Dutch alternative music site though. It seemed to be pretty popular there.

My current entry is by a band/group I've seen live twice and both of the times it was full of energy and I got home SWAMPED. This particular track is very relaxing though (can replace your valium).

They're from South Africa and I know they do shows in the UK but I don't think they're really known over there.

I've only gone and found myself another fantastic potential entry, to change or not to change. I guess it COULD keep to next month, I'd be amazed if anyone else sent it.,
Diandra wouldn't have won it. It's 'Call Me Maybe' all over again (although it's not going to be a monster WW hit, unfortunately ). Good luck in getting points if someone decides to send the original! (The original is TERRIBLE aha.)
My entry has just (as in the last week) released a new song and i don't know whether to go with an oldy that i like more or this new one. HELP.

CONFIRMED

Can't believe Torchwood are actually back like. I hope the contest has picked up a bit since I was last here.
