I've heard of the other two, but not Cedric Gervais - I suppose I should look him up.

Do you remember 'Loca People' by Sak Noel? It's similar to that.

Florence for a third week will be nice, I don't think Conor Maynard and Karmin are contenders are for #1, mind you anything over 45k plus next week will get a #1. I think Florence will have sales around 50-55k for this week.

I should imagine Calvin Harris will easily coast to #1 in a fortnight's time if next week's sales are low, most likely stick around for another week, 2 weeks in total unless Rita releases early.

So... Florence 3 weeks, Calvin Harris 2 weeks, not bad... Rita afterwards, Little Mix maybe a week later.

Why do people think that Little Mix are contenders for number one? Have you forgotten how all the recent X-Factor songs have flopped and plummeted down the charts?

I think they are contenders but far from a certain #1.

I think the week after next we'll have a top 2 of new entries over 100k from Wiley and Calvin Harris, can't call who will be #1 but Calvin doesn't really have the best of luck with these top 2 battles

That's why I put maybe but I think Rita Ora is going to be very frontloaded, and she be safe for at least 2 to 3weeks that should put an end to the 1 weekers at #1 for awhile, unless Owl City gets a release date in between.

And at the end of August X Factor kicks in, so anything can happen, mind you the live shows don't start till Oct, maybe an old classic might re-surface in the auditions stages.

Pink is apparently releasing the same week as them. If that's true, she'll easily beat them to #1. I can see 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss)' being a big hit for Pink, not quite as big as 'So What' though!

I think: Florence 3 Weeks, Calvin 2 Weeks, Rita 1 Week, Pink 4 Weeks? The schedule looks dead after Little Mix/Pink. Hopefully The Saturdays will announce their 'end of Summer' single soon. It could perform well given how quite it is in the start of September.

Drive By  #14

I wonder if this could become one of the very rare songs to spend their first 20 weeks in the top 20? (Which I think has only been done by '(Everything I Do) I Do It For You', 'Love Is All Around', 'The A Team', 'Moves Like Jagger' and some songs from the really early days of the charts). Its 14th week will be tomorrow and it shows no sign of leaving even the top 15 at the moment. 'We Are Young' and 'Call Me Maybe', which will be on their 15th and 16th weeks respectively tomorrow and still at #12 and #13 respectively on iTunes, could also join the list - but Train doing it would be more impressive since they peaked at just #6.

Call Me Maybe had that week at #137 or whatever though so that kind of doesn't count :P

That would also count out 'The A Team' which charted in the top 200 off the back of a live version that was then deleted.

(Anyway, I found the list of songs to do this and those 4 I mentioned are the only ones to do it since 1967; the others to do it are The Beatles' 'She Loves You', Pat Boone's 'I'll Be Home', Guy Mitchell's 'Singing The Blues', Elvis Presley's 'Hound Dog', Pat Boone's 'Love Letters In The Sand', Engelbert Humperdinck's 'The Last Waltz' (), Buddy Holly's 'It Doesn't Matter Any More' and Cliff Richard and The Drifters' 'Living Doll' + some more prior to 1956 which aren't listed in the post).

Great chart performance from Drive By the question is with these types of song would they have done better with radio 1 airplay? I think not, they seem to hang around because radio 1 ignored them which means they reach high up the chart initially because they are good and then hang around as the radio 1 audience hears and likes the song.

Good to see Two Door Cinema Club in the top 300, i take its an OA/OS release - their album isnt out until september.i always gets excited at the thought of the final quaters list of album releases - its always so busy!!

The two kind of go hand in hand though.

Not always! Someone can be fit and have a healthy lifestyle but be a right munter

'Loca People' is BY FAR superior! :P

What about Gotye or did he not debut in the to 20?

Conor Maynard will easily be No.1 unfortunately, the sales will be more than low enough, and it might well be 59p tomorrow as well

I personally think Wiley will beat Calvin Harris to #1 the week after, and Lawson's new release is likely to get there the next week.

After that, Rita Ora, Owl City, Little Mix, Ne-Yo, presumably Tulisa's next single, and a few others are all in with a shout of going to #1 over the next month

It lingered just outside the top 100 and then just inside for a bit, I remember we all (myself included!) were annoyed it looked like flopping so bad when it was a worldwide hit  How wrong we actually were!

I still think Karmin could surprise and beat Conor Maynard to number 1, we all thought Can't Say No would get there and something unexpected beat it, I hope that happens anyway as Vegas Girl isn't nearly as good. I am usually familiar with new releases, but I've not heard of this Cedric Gervais thing at all...

Well, Call Me Maybe wasn't that unexpected, it just got an early release. :P Otherwise it would've been #1. CMM was meant to be released the week after CSN.

I think it might be a brand new top three with Cedric - #3, Conor - #2 and Karmin #1. Or maybe that's just my wishful thinking :(
