Oh thank God Stooshe blocked Karmin from going top 5! Can't stand Brokenhearted, parts of it are dull and other parts are just plain awful (mainly the 'rap'). Really hoping this stays with a #6 peak.
Random... but I disagree, 'Everybody Get Up' for me.

It's just she was saying someone requested Five (and also The Thong Song ) on the request show before, so I just had to express my love for that song.

Can't Say No

The arrival of Conor Maynard is long overdue. For years, we've awaited a British solo male singer who was young but not too tween, a star that boasted big, massive hits, but was no insipid pop puppet. Someone funny and outgoing, articulate and intelligent, but no stranger to entertaining and engaging his audience.

Step forward Conor Maynard, the charismatic and charming 19 year-old who effortlessly encompasses credible-cool and commercial appeal with his forward-thinking, futuristic, super-sharp urban-pop. Already boasting a smash-hit debut single in the form of Can't Say No, which has sold well over 200,000 copies, his forthcoming album Contrast establishes him as one of pop music's most exciting propositions.

While careless comparison could be made to other teenage YouTube sensations, Conor's distinctive musical merit is irrefutable on his incomparable debut album, Contrast. Rather than retreading the over-played euro-dance route, Contrast is an album that refuses to be stifled by genre proposing innovative R&B, dramatic Hip Hop soundscapes and stadium-scaling pop anthems, while retaining a cohesiveness that is inventive, playful and unusually arresting.

Co-written and produced by Conor with the likes of Pharrell Williams, Ne-Yo, Midi Mafia, Stargate and Frank Ocean, Contrast manages to appeal to a global consciousness while retaining a distinctly British sensibility, courtesy in part to UK producers the Invisible Men, the trio behind hits for Jessie J (Laserlight, Do It Like A Dude) and DJ Fresh (Hot Right Now).

As well as producing Conor's No.2 debut smash Can't Say No, the Invisible Men also take the reins on a number of key tracks on the album including Conor's second single Vegas Girl, out on July 23rd. Produced and written by Conor Maynard and The Invisible Men, the collaborative composition screams smash hit. Recalling the ingenuity and the energy of an early Neptunes, Missy Elliott or Timbaland, Vegas Girl is a cutting-edge slice of sub-low, neck-breaking bass, with Conor's skilfully positioned vocal propelling the track from club-ready to chart-worthy.

Other album highlights include Turn Around, written by Ne-Yo and produced by Stargate. An uplifting, anthemic emo-urban-pop track, it's a brilliantly atmospheric, hands-in-the-air tune, tailor-made for stadium audiences. Alongside the Pharrell Williams track Lift Off, which revisits N*E*R*D*s notorious sci-fi synths and throwback soul but with an almost four-to-the-floor middle eight, it showcases Conor's globe-busting potential for truly international success.

With dark pop tracks such as Mary Go Round, spectacular R&B vocals on Drowning, outright dancefloor-fillers like the stunning album opener Animal and the Rita Ora-featuring Better Than You, plus a second Pharrell Williams-produced number in Glass Girl, this is an album with across-the-board appeal.

Throwing the Midi Mafia (50 Cent) produced and Frank Ocean penned Pictures into the mix with its lyrically suggestive, slow and sexy falsetto-filled jam underlines that Conor is most definitely a man, not a boy. And proves that Contrast is not only an incredible debut for a teenager, it's outstanding full stop. Considering Conor has been recording professionally for less than a year, it displays a lyrical and vocal maturity far beyond his years, without ignoring his younger followers.

"I am my fanbase," Conor points out. "I'm making music for people like me; I know what I want to hear when I'm out partying with my friends and I know what I want to hear when I've broken up with my girlfriend."

And with such a dramatic, brilliant and downright thrilling debut album about to be unleashed Conor is far from complacent. "Everything that has happened so far has been amazing, but I'm not about to take my eye off the ball. Right now I'm getting ready for the next step because I don't want to trip myself up. This is the most exciting thing to happen to me, and I don't want it to stop." - HMV

Ill Manors

This third album from London-based rapper Plan B is the soundtrack to his debut feature film of the same name, a gritty 'hip-hop musical' set on a brutal council estate, which he wrote and directed. Leaving behind the soul direction he took on 2010’s The Defamation of Strickland Banks, here he returns to the hard-edged, overtly political rap of his debut, dealing with the poverty, deprivation and alienation afflicting large segments of Britain’s youth. The title track was released as a single. - HMV

One More Night

Recorded in Los Angeles over the last year, Maroon 5 return with their highly anticipated fourth studio album 'Overexposed'. The new album is a rich, pop-infused collection featuring 10 new tracks. The album was executive produced by Max Martin with additional tracks produced by Benny Blanco and Ryan Tedder.

Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine said of the release, "'Overexposed' is definitely one of our most diverse and poppiest albums yet. We had a great time recording it".

Guitarist James Valentine added, "'Moves Like Jagger' was the first time we ever worked with an outside writer, so we decided to try it some more on this record. At this point in our career I think it was a good thing to completely mix up our process and it yielded good results, as well as a more collaborative spirit within the band. We wanted to make something that sounded contemporary with the elements of a lot of early eras of pop music. This is our most pop record ever and we weren't shy about really going for it."

Maroon 5's musicianship and frontman Adam Levine's vocals are as distinct as ever on 'Overexposed', continuing to showcase the band's ability for creating songs that have become part of the pop fabric. Maroon 5 began writing and recording the album during their most recent world tour and the resulting collection is chock-full of undeniable, anthemic melodies. The album includes such stand out tracks as the emphatic single 'Payphone' featuring Wiz Khalifa, the irresistible 'One More Night' and the rythmic ballad 'Beautiful Goodbye.' - HMV

Turning Tables (Live)

'21' is the second album from singer-songwriter Adele, and like her first record, 2008's '19', it is named after the age Adele was when she wrote the album. Most of '21' was produced by Rick Rubin, who has worked with some of the biggest acts of the last 20 years, and Florence & The Machine producer Paul Epworth. Lyrically the album reflects Adele's increased maturity since '19', although it explores many of the same themes.

Brokenhearted is growing on me really quickly. Actually starting to like the rap after hating it on first listen. Hope it can nudge in to that top 5.

Glad for Stooshe, really pleased with Black Heart's performance. Nice to see a song like this doing so well (even with the 59p effect it has had).

Congrats to Conor!! It's a very good top 3 in the albums. Also glad Delilah got top 5 and Rick Ross got top 10 (although I haven't got round to listening to the album yet).
Conor Maynard at the top of the albums? That's actually quite scary!!! :/
Shane Richie :manson:
This Stooshe song is actually pretty nice. I guess it's one of these unexpected hits.

21 still top 10 at #10

Emeli  to #3  Didnt realise she hasnt left top 10 since release :o 1-2-1-3-2-4-3-5-5-6-9-8-2-3-1-6-6-6-4-5-5-7-10-8-3 Amazing!

80 weeks top 20 for 21, 75 in the top 10. Ridiculous longevity. Thank god for Adele, saving the British music industry.
Conor Maynard far from the worst person to hold Plan B off a second week at #1 but a little bit disappointed ill Manors couldn't come back from the very small midweek lead! Good to see Delilah holding onto the top 5 and Rick Ross staying at #8 - 'God Forgives, I Don't' is the most bizarre top 10 album I can think of this year, most rap artists struggle to sell albums even when they're big singles artists but Rick Ross has never even seen the top 75 singles yet and only the top 100 twice (both as a feature) Nice to see Adele just holding onto the top 10 again as well.
