Well the only thing I knew is that Cannonball didn't even reach the top 40 biggest selling singles of the year, only managing No.41

Little Mix were always going to be more successful than the male winners. Joe, Leon and Matt just didn't have the charisma, image or performance skills to do well outside the show and their material was far too bland and faceless to be big hits. Little Mix are a girl group and are young, fun, colorful, can dance and have released a very radio friendly pop song with a catchy chorus. They've got a media presence (mostly because of Zayn and Twitter) and they're also releasing earlier than the usual XF winners.

 

Throw in the fact that Little Mix had barely any fans at the start of XF and had to build themselves up through consistant performances (as opposed to the male winners who just done well from the start...was it bored housewives voting for them? Teenage girls with a crush?) and also the fact that One Direction have done well so Simon will probably want to take the girls to the US, and i'd say there's alot of pressure on Wings to go to #1. :lol:

It's more like with Matt and Joe, Cowell had decided that they weren't going to do well and then did everything in his power to make it happen. Just like he decided 1D and Olly would be the successes and made it so. Thankfully this year i think he's actually behind the winners for a change.

I loved RYFL but I knew it would underperform. It wasn't a good choice of single for his proper debut after X-Factor and it wasn't that chart friendly.
