August 19, 201214 yr I'm not aware that positions under 200 were ever made available. I found this chart run for 'Spice Up Your Life' spread across the 1997/1998 Chartwatch booklets. This includes four positions lower than Top 200: 1 2 3 4 10 20 24 29 34 37 29 / 37 50 59 65 80 100 107 110 108 87 144 195 147 130 126 137 164 170 197 xx 225 195 217 200 200 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx 231 198 xx xx xx xx xx 378 185. *Confused*! No re-entries were noted in Chartwatch from 1999-2006. It re-entered at #151 in 2007; incidentally that position was credited as its 47th week by the OCC. This is all I have for its Top 200 run, a total of 37 weeks: 01-02-03-04-10-20-24-29-34-37-29-37-50-59-65-80-100-107-110-108-87-144-195-147-130-126-137-164-170-197-OUT [1st Entry: 19/10/1997] (30 weeks) 195-OUT [2nd Entry: 31/05/1998] (1 week) 200-200-OUT [3rd Entry: 14/06/1998] (2 weeks) 198-OUT [4th Entry: 27/09/1998] (1 week) 185-OUT [5th Entry: 15/11/1998] (1 week) 151-OUT [6th Entry: 18/11/2007] (1 week) 95-Still Charting [7th Entry: 19/08/2012] (1 week) Strange.
August 19, 201214 yr How strange! What is the official "Cannon" these days? I still use a top 75 just because you can compare like for like for any period (well from 1978 onwards anyway).

The 4 and 7 is next to the 3 and 6 for 36, so perhaps no one noticed and they were credited with 47 weeks. I'm guessing no one verified the figure and they've just added to it. I don't think they'd track weeks outside the top 200 on the OCC website. Either way, VERY pleased to see it re-enter - just a shame it wasn't top 40!
August 19, 201214 yr How strange! What is the official "Cannon" these days? I still use a top 75 just because you can compare like for like for any period (well from 1978 onwards anyway). I suppose it might be Top 100 these days, considering the OCC makes that available publicly. However, I still like to consider the main chart as the Top 75. :D It sounds like a silly suggestion, but perhaps it's possible that the "47" weeks was down to poor data entry? On further research, there anomalies with other singles of theirs as well! -_- When these singles left the charts (after re-entering the Top 200 in November 2007), their total weeks were listed as: Viva Forever - 2 weeks 2 Become 1 - 35 weeks Spice Up Your Life - 47 weeks Wannabe - 57 weeks Stop - 3 weeks Goodbye - 38 weeks Whereas based on the Chartwatch data ( http://www.zobbel.de/cluk/CLUK_S.HTM ), the total weeks should be: Viva Forever - 29 weeks 2 Become 1 - 33 weeks Spice Up Your Life - 36 weeks (37 as of this week) Wannabe - 44 weeks Stop - 32 weeks Goodbye - 30 weeks Yes, Viva Forever & Stop were listed as just 2 and 3 weeks! Oh well, it's hardly important, it's just strange that there's so many "missing weeks" unaccounted for with these singles.

Haha, someone at the OCC clearly wanted to go home early/wasn't a fan of the Spice Girls that week! It seems odd how they could get all of them that wrong. I hope we get some updated total sales this week, I'm probably being a bit too hopeful there though.
August 19, 201214 yr Fingers crossed! I want updated totals for all their albums/singles :kink: but just to know a new figure for Greatest Hits would be great!
August 20, 201214 yr Thankfully the Spice Girls stayed top 20 (although just about) but its likely they will plummet this week, still all in all they should gain at least 5,000 extra sales from it. Always happy to see Take That back on the chart and even greater when its with the brilliant rule the world, rule the world has had an amazing chart run and i still say its a huge shame it was never a number 1 for them.

August 20, 201214 yr Kelly Clarkson and Coldplay are currently No.11 and No.12. Both of them have 43 weeks!!! "Stronger" keeps going on!! It's her second most selling album in U.k!!
August 22, 201214 yr Update on the longest running hits which are yet to drop out for the first time (haven't done this for a few months and a fair few of the longer running singles dropped out this week): Singles: 1 53wks Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger Glad this managed to rack up the 52 weeks in the top 75 last week. It would have been annoying if the Olympic closing ceremony had been a week earlier and denied it!
