EVERYONE is talking about Gangnam Style at my school, the other day in Maths everyone was singing it to annoy the teacher and literally like 5 of my friends have it as a ringtone  It's definitely one of those songs that's made a big social impact.

Yeah, I agree. I see people talking about it on Facebook all the time. I feel like everybody knows it already.

And it's already #8 on US iTunes!!

Ok say Amelia is knocked off #1 at 5pm today.

She's been at number one Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and just over half of Wednesday.

Ne-Yo, who will get the "number one effect", will be number one presumably; the rest of Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

So that's exactly half and half, but Sunday is the biggest sales day (and Monday I think).

It will definitely depend on Amelia's staying power at #2. If Ne-Yo shoots back up and Amelia isn't consistently 90% of him (85% at least) until Sunday, she's lost the #1. I wonder what the sales gap between the top 3 is?

Actually, because of Sunday's and Monday's sales, I wonder if Amelia can afford to decline right down to 70% in the end?

My school must be the only one in the UK that doesn't have a craze about Gangnam Style! I don't see it mentioned anywhere on Facebook either.

74. Dark Days - Parkway Drive

Do love a random OA/OS metalcore iTunes top 100 hit :P

Amelia's main competition for #1 is The Script, not Ne-Yo. The Script have probably been ahead of her combined for most of today and were never that far behind. Ne-Yo getting the #1 effect might actually be to Amelia's advantage.

Ugh. Gutted to see The Killers doing terribly. I'm more hopeful about the album though still, but it would have been nice for them to add a hit to the start of it. Their album is amazing. Very pleased with it.

How, in any way shape or form, would it be to Amelia's advantage? :P

You're right about The Script though. Didn't realise they were in the lead for so long. Both of their versions don't add up to 100% though?

Cover Drive have apparently been dropped from their Global/Talent/Capital FM contract. This pretty much shows that Capital are only concerned about making money (Cover Drive's material have been flops tbh) and not about the quality of music they play. Be interesting to see if they get a second album now that the main radio station supporting them has dropped them (and they do quite badly on airplay anyway).

Also be interesting to see how Lawson do when their album drops. The Wanted are doing fantastic so they seem safe.

Well it's not 'quality of music' that pays the bills... :P

I don't think their music is that great anyway...

Because The Script are (or at least were) catching up to Ne-Yo with their top version, so if Ne-Yo gets the #1 effect and pulls ahead they'll prevent The Script from overtaking and getting the #1 effect themselves. Ne-Yo pulling ahead would't be as bad for Amelia as The Script's top version pulling ahead, since The Script are ahead in the week so far. If that makes sense.

The Script have three other album versions around the #500 mark which almost certainly make up the gap to 100% from their first 2 versions. It's close though.

So Rihanna's new single from her seventh album will be premiering on Monday?

Actually hilarious!!

Well 'We Found Love' was even better than 'Only Girl', which was a step up from 'Russian Roulette' so let's hope it doesn't mark a decline in quality.

I dont mind or dislike Tulisa but its hilarious on here how her fans are saying things like 'Tulisa was never expected to do well with this type of song' or 'she hasnt performed anywhere'. Apart from the fact shes on the xfactor every saturday night which is one of the biggest shows on tv lol!

I'm not some massive Tulisa fan, but just being on a show isn't a lot of help, especially as there's no mention of the single - how will anyone even know Live It Up is out if she's performed it like once?

Seems rather odd, their last era had 'Like a G6' and 'Rocketeer', one HUGE hit and one reasonable one; whilst this era has given them two reasonable hits still, 'Live My Life' w/ Justin Bieber and then 'Turn Up the Love' w/ Cover Drive. Single wise they've done fine, I think it's just the album that may have led to the drop. 'Free Wired' peaked at #24 in the US; whilst 'Dirty Bass' only managed #190 (and didn't even reach the top 200 in the UK!)

Ok I get where you are going with this but I still think whoever overtakes Amelia on iTunes will overtake her officially.

Weren't they talking about Cover Drive, rather than Far East Movement?

Cover Drive got dropped not Far East Movement :S

How am I POSSIBLY going to sleep at night after hearing this?!

On a serious note; they lasted long, didn't they?
