September 13, 201213 yr According to the Popjustice forums, Amelia is still number 1 on today's update. She's sold 42k so far whilst Hall of Fame has sold 36k
September 13, 201213 yr 6,000 lead while great can also be easily got, dont forget the Script also have another version that when combined will close the gap, it may be a very close battle yet.
September 13, 201213 yr Is David Guetta's Nothing but the Beat 2.0 being counted as a separate album? It has been on the Radio 1 Update Chart page. Looks like it, its got a NE beside it By Sunday it will be combined, regardless of whether it says NE on Radio 1. Midweeks are always slow to combine things.
September 13, 201213 yr I think 6k will probably be a sufficient lead with the actual figures being nothing spectacular :( Unless she really falls behind on iTunes now.
September 13, 201213 yr Just had a look on the OCC website and their chart rules, and David Guetta's Nothing but the Beat 2.0 may not be combined with the original version: Sales of alternative versions of an album where the alternative version features additional audio and / or audio visual material to the standard album version, will be combined provided: * The alternative format contains 100% of the audio tracks as featured on the standard version (See Appendix 1 Figure 1). * The additional material on the alternative format has not been previously available for purchase in its entirety as a separate product. If the additional tracks are released as a separate product, sales of an album cannot be combined with those of the original format. This is applicable even if the album contains mixes/live/extended versions of songs on the original format. http://c0903002.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecl...chart-rules.pdf You can see Appendix 1 Figure 1 here. Nothing but the Beat 2.0 is missing some tracks from the original version, i.e Night of Your Life and Repeat.
September 13, 201213 yr Nothing but the Beat 2.0 is missing some tracks from the original version, i.e Night of Your Life and Repeat. I wonder why they left those tracks off?
September 13, 201213 yr I wonder why they left those tracks off? I would guess that they thought the album would be a bit too bloated were they to keep all the tracks so they cut a bit of what they thought was dead weight. But then considering they released Night of Your Life as a promo single and Repeat was (IIRC?) a planned UK single, it's hard to imagine they really thought those tracks were worth cutting. The theory of them trimming the fat is supported by the shortened edits of Lunar, Sunshine and Metropolis, but the Night of Your Live/Repeat situation is still really odd. So essentially, I have no idea why they left them off  Edited September 13, 201213 yr by Umi
September 14, 201213 yr But then considering they released Night of Your Life as a promo single and Repeat was (IIRC?) a planned UK single, it's hard to imagine they really thought those tracks were worth cutting. Yeah, that's what I thought. I was considering buying the 2.0 version, but I really liked Night of Your Life, and I haven't heard Repeat but I imagine it's just as great as any other track. I might by the original, but I wanted She Wolf (Falling to Pieces) on it. :(
September 14, 201213 yr Author Midweek Charts update: Possible Script change to chart-topping singles battle Source: MW by Paul Willams The Script are applying the pressure on midweek chart-topper Amelia Lily in their pursuit of a first ever UK No 1 single by closing the sales gap to just 2,000 downloads. At the beginning of the week Xenomania/RCA-signed Lily's debut single You Bring Me Joy looked destined to top the chart this Sunday with a solid 36% lead over its nearest challenger, The Script featuring will.i.am's Epic/Phonogenic release Hall Of Fame. However, by the end of business on Thursday that had narrowed to just 4%, according to the Official Charts Company. The Script single debuted at No 2 last Sunday, equalling their previous UK singles chart peak achieved by The Man Who Can't Be Moved in 2008. They also look likely to pull off the same debut on the artist albums chart this weekend with their third album Number 3 showing up as a new entry at 2 on the midweels behind The xx's newly-issued XL album Coexist. Another brand new album, Columbia act Bob Dylan's Tempest, is placed third. Other album highlights in the week so far include Coldplay's Mylo Xyloo rising 20-4 after sales lifted 349% following their Paralympics closing ceremony appearance, while there are new entries from fellow Parlophone act Pet Shop Boys with Elysium at 7 and UCJ's Joe McElderry with Here's What I Believe at 8. With Amelia Lily and The Script at 1 and 2 on the midweek singles listings Motown/Mercury act Ne-Yo has dropped to 3 with Let Me Love You (Until You Learn To Love) after debuting at the top last Sunday. Little Mix's second Syco single Wings holds at 4 and Atlantic act Flo Rida's I Cry moves up 11-5 in the week so far. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Friday Update Top 40 Only Singles 1 Amelia Lily (2k ahead) 2 Script/will.i.am 3 Ne-Yo 4 Little Mix 5 Flo Rida Top 10 6 Taylor Swift Top 15 11 Tulisa/Tyga 12 Cheryl 15 David Guetta/Sia Top 20 Muford & Sons 17 Killers Top 30 22 David Guetta/Ne-Yo/Akon Otto Knows Top 40 Coldplay & Rihanna 37 Kanye west/Jay-Z/Big Sean 40 The XX [Angels] ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Albums 1 The XX 2 The Script 3 Bob Dylan 4 Coldplay 5 The Vaccines Top 10 7 Pet Shop Boys 8 Joe McElderry Top 15 David Guetta Top 20 16 Adele Billy Talent Top 30 ZZ Top 27 Alt-J Top 40 36 The XX [XX] 38 David Bryne & St Vincent Melanie C The Gallows NO SALES INFO
September 14, 201213 yr I actually think Amelia can hold on, only just though... And pleased Tulisa looks set to miss the top ten with that awful song!
September 14, 201213 yr Author I actually think Amelia can hold on, only just though... Not so sure with just 2k ahead, I think the Script will eat that up after today and tomorrow.
September 14, 201213 yr :cheer: :cheer: "Clique" is in the top 40, hopefully it goes top 30 by Sunday.
September 14, 201213 yr I actually think Amelia can hold on, only just though... And pleased Tulisa looks set to miss the top ten with that awful song! I'd like to see that, but I think the weekend effect will be in The Script's favour. Also really want PSBs to stay top 10, David Byrne top 40 and PSY sneeks into the top 40
September 14, 201213 yr Not so sure with just 2k ahead, I think the Script will eat that up after today and tomorrow. Just as long as Ne-Yo *isn't* #1... :)
September 14, 201213 yr Author PSY and Conor Maynard, should make the top 40 come Sunday, might just push The XX [Angels], Justin Bieber or Alex Clare out of the 40, I'm thinking Alex and Justin, which makes it 10 new entries to the 40 with 1 re-entry for Coldplay & Rihanna, and a new peak for Otto Knows, a well needed clear out.
September 14, 201213 yr Mel C out of the top 40 midweeks by the end of the week as per-usual.
September 14, 201213 yr I hops PSB stay top 10 - they haven't missed the top 10 with any of their studio albums (remix, GH, side projects etc excluded)
September 14, 201213 yr Joe doing the usual and moving up as the week goes on. Would love him to get in the Top 5 but not sure he can make it now. Anyone know the sales gap at all? I think The Script will make #1, they are on ITV performing as we speak which will give it another boost.
