October 8, 201212 yr Yeah I'm really hearing the Maroon 5 comparisons but they're one of my favourite bands so I'm seeing that as a good thing. That + the addition of Flo Rida should make it a US smash hopefully. This is so catchy, probably the best thing he's ever done already (I love HSAB but all his other singles are mainly just 'nice' imo).
October 8, 201212 yr Very very good and it is very similar to something Maroon 5 would release as you all say!
October 8, 201212 yr I wasn't fussed on first listen but it clicked on the second play :D Not as good as "Heart Skips a Beat"/"Dance with Me Tonight", but it's yet another strong single from him!
October 8, 201212 yr This is BRILLIANT :o Really catchy and funky, so Maroon 5 but I really love the sound! It could overtake Heart Skips A Beat as my favourite from him actually, so impressed!
October 8, 201212 yr So 'Heart Skips A Beat' wasn't just a fluke, really good! I definitely get the comparisons with Maroon 5's 'This Love', even sounding a bit Adam Levine-esque. Maybe one or two hints of Jamiroquai too.
October 8, 201212 yr It's really good, it sounds like Maroon 5. I prefer Dance With Me Tonight. I'm not 100% sure Troublemaker will easily go to number either!
October 8, 201212 yr Wow well done Olly, another very catchy song, a third 600,000+ selling album under his belt by 2013! Who knew how successful he could be, congratulations to him!
October 9, 201212 yr I love this song, it's his best yet, it's gonna take him to a new level. Maroon 5 vs Jamiroquai. Claude Kelly, Steve Robson and Murs are a hit factory. It's really good, it sounds like Maroon 5. I prefer Dance With Me Tonight. I'm not 100% sure Troublemaker will easily go to number either! You're kidding right? Add Ollys fan base to Flo Rida who is the biggest selling singles artist of the year. The song will slay the radio, it's so catchy and it's a real grower. Plus his X Factor appearance. But mainly its just so damn radio friendly with massive appeal. Edited October 9, 201212 yr by BuzzLightyear
October 9, 201212 yr The only competition for number 1 looks like being the Labrinth and Emeli Sande collaboration but thats his 6th single off the album so maybe not, or Pitbull despite his being a crap song as that never usually stops him. I would bet on Troublemaker being Olly's 4th number 1.
October 9, 201212 yr Author There's a non Flo Rida version that Radio 2 and Heart are playing which I'm assuming will be Olly's performance version when Flo Rida's not there - it has an extra verse from Olly in the bit where Flo Rida's rap goes. You can listen to it on iPlayer from the 2 hour 6 minute mark: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01n601f Oh and he confirmed on Greg James' Radio 1 show yesterday that he will be performing on the Sunday results show of X Factor the day this is released - they're just trying to arrange Flo Rida's schedule so he can come over and do it. He apparently wants to take him and Greg on a Essex night out! Edited October 9, 201212 yr by ThePensmith
October 9, 201212 yr The amount of Maroon 5 comparisons makes me worry about hearing this. (That said, 'This Love' is a decent song only ruined by Adam's hideous voice which shouldn't be a problem for Olly).
October 9, 201212 yr Author The amount of Maroon 5 comparisons makes me worry about hearing this. (That said, 'This Love' is a decent song only ruined by Adam's hideous voice which shouldn't be a problem for Olly). They're vastly exaggerated I can reassure you! It's a bit more of a funk influence like their music but it's definitely not whiny (cause I know that's a common complaint with Adam Levine). In fact the funk influence is kinda a recurring theme for this new album.
October 10, 201212 yr Shame this wasn't saved to be the UK's Eurovision entry next year, it's the perfect length, instantly catchy, contemporary and would stand a chance of doing well and launching Olly across Europe to add to the success that he's already had in a few countries. The disco strings REALLY remind me of something, not Maroon 5, something else but I can't put my finger on it!

Not sure if that's just me though
October 11, 201212 yr Shame this wasn't saved to be the UK's Eurovision entry next year, it's the perfect length, instantly catchy, contemporary and would stand a chance of doing well and launching Olly across Europe to add to the success that he's already had in a few countries. The disco strings REALLY remind me of something, not Maroon 5, something else but I can't put my finger on it! He's had number 1s across Europe, so he'd have a good shot at doing well but that also means that he doesn't need Eurovision. Let's be honest it's not worth winning it anyway, it's a load of rubbish no one cares about anymore, so maybe McElderry should do it! Lol. I think this song is more geared towards breaking Murs in America, Heart skips a beat hasn't really done what it should have so this could be the one, especially with Flo Rida on it.
October 13, 201212 yr Author Olly's first live performance of 'Troublemaker' in London for his exclusive Heart FM 'Love Music Live' gig with his band. Sounds even better live, can't wait for the tour now! I met him again at his book signing this week :) gpqp7Oycr8k
October 13, 201212 yr Certainly a good song, but not one of his best. Should be another #1 for him though :D Gutted I never got to meet him this week, stupid college :(
