In hindsight, I don't know why we all expected Example to be a cert for #1. If his collaboration with a far more popular artist only got to #2, how was his solo single going to get to #1?

Hi guys :D

 Alex Clare still holding on! Too Close is *still* being used on the Internet Explorer advert though, so it's probably going to stick around some more!

This song's been around for a long time :drama: Would be nice to see it do half a year consecutively but after that can it please drop out?

'We'll Be Coming Back', is undoubtedly a huge summer anthem. A melodic guitar-led intro gives way to a hard electro synth-fuelled chorus backed by Example's catchy, addictive vocals. From the terraces in Ibiza to the festival fields, it is set to be the soundtrack to the summer. Remixes come courtesy of Michael Woods, Killsonik, R3hab and Jacob Plant. - HMV

Discussion Thread Here

I wish we had more new entries at #40. I think the last one was 'Dark Side' by Kelly Clarkson. :(

Hello all!

'Say Nothing' is growing on me a bit more but it's a big step down from his last few releases, quite glad to see it not looking to be another #1 for him but I do hope it can hold onto #2 (PSY will be #1 next week).

Wow at Alex Clare still hanging on, almost half a year in the top 40 now!

And on the subject of Example, ugh at 'We'll Be Coming Back' now plummeting after a promising start. Pretty much the opposite of 'Let's Go' which started really badly but managed 11 weeks top 40, this will probably be unlikely to get a 9th week.

Loved Pink getting no.1-can't believe that was 10 years ago. I've only remembered that this week is the week of my birthday no.1. The choices are crap but still all better than last year being Dappy.

Hoping Jessica Wright can scrape top 40, as foul as she is ^_^

And Dark Side peaked at #40 too, sadly. What a brilliant song it is :(

Might get a 9th week, Alex Clare dropped from 25 to 40, and been a non mover today, Wiley could do the same or climb a tad with not so many new releases this week

Still needs 'Top Of The World' (Smiler feat. Professor Green and Tawiah, #63 two weeks ago) added :P

After a "meh" start to the chart, this is much better! Really hope it can at least get Top 30.

I really like Professor Green. I wish his albums and singles sold better than they do.

Not a big fan of Pro Green but I like the guest vocalist in this. Much better than that blandie Ruth Anne in 'Remedy'

Retro Top 10 - Week 39

1- NO REGRETS- Dappy (96,639)

2- MOVES LIKE JAGGER- Maroon 5 Ft Christina Aguilera (71,738)

3- WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL- One Direction (68,002)

4- IT GIRL- Jason Derulo (58,118)

5- I WON’T LET YOU GO- James Morrison (49,994)

Those are brilliant sales! :o I never realised how good sales were this time last year.

The overall 1997 retro sales this week are disappointing (compared to last week - the top 6 sold over 50,000!) but it is understandable as people must have spent their money on the Elton John single.

I'm excited to see the Christmas 1997 retro sales as I've never seen them before - it should be interesting! :D

Just like a Pill is one of my favourite Pink songs. Always annoys me when they bleep the lyrics out with all they show these days!
