October 3, 201212 yr Girl Thing Last Ones Standing #8 Girls on Top #25 Girls@Play Airhead #18 Respectable #29 Emilia Big Big World #5 Good Sign #54 Stefan Dennis Dont it make you feel good #17 This love affair #67 To my knowledge all the above never entered the charts again or released any further material. Though randomly Emilia just had a #192 smash last week :D
October 3, 201212 yr If we restrict the definition of a "two hit wonder" to having 2 No.1s and then nothing else ever (as per the one hit wonder defintion used by the Guinness book) is the only one Bob the Builder? I can't think of any others (although Irene Cara and Johnny Logan should have honorable mention) And Robson and Jerome the only three hit wonders? Edit: I see Bre has already talked about this - be interesting to see if there are any more? Edited October 3, 201212 yr by Brotho
October 3, 201212 yr Though randomly Emilia just had a #192 smash last week :D Out of interest what was the name of the Emilia song, i absolutly adored/adore big big world and quiet like good sign, shame she faded so fast.
October 3, 201212 yr I just thought of another 2004 'two hit wonder'...VS anyone? This was of course the band Marvin from JLS was in formed by Simon Webbe from Blue - 'Love You Like Mad' and 'Call U Sexy' reached #7 and #11 respectively but the especially brilliant 'Make It Hot' only made #28...I still have their album. It was great!
October 3, 201212 yr Another 2004 'two hit wonder' 2Play So Confused #6 It Can't Be Right #8  I think they charted again with a cover of George Michael's Careless Whisper, but only just scraped Top 40 if I remember correctly! Although Raghav who features on all songs had a few solo Top 10 hits the following year. Edited October 3, 201212 yr by gavindeejay

October 3, 201212 yr If you go by recordings rather than releases, then Baddiel & Skinner could count - they reached #1 both with the original and the 1998 re-make of Three Lions (the latter has been re-issued a couple of times). Of course, both featured The Lightning Seeds who have charted other hits.
September 6, 201311 yr Christina Perri is the definition of two hit wonder!!! "Jar of Hearts" has sold more than 900.000 copies and "A Thousand Years" has sold more than 450.000 copies to date. I'm so curious if she will release a third single as successful as them. It seems that she doesn't care for making new material as others.. Edited September 6, 201311 yr by Escapar82
September 7, 201311 yr I think we could add Psy with Gangnam Style and Gentleman to this list soon, depends on how the 3rd single does but I think it'll flop
September 7, 201311 yr I think we could add Psy with Gangnam Style and Gentleman to this list soon, depends on how the 3rd single does but I think it'll flop I though Psy would be a *one* hit wonder until he had a second hit..... It will be a case of diminishing returns though, the next single will probably chart but just top 75 I think. Depends what you actually term a 'hit' though. Top 200? top 100? top 75? For me that's top 75. I don't really consider something peaking at no.186 to be a hit.

For me a hit is top 20 most of the time, but there are exceptions where songs that made the top 20 are flops and songs that missed the top 20 are hits. It depends on sales and longevity really. I wouldn't call a song that spends a single week at #75 a hit single.
September 7, 201311 yr Might have been mentioned but so far I would count Fun. as a two hit wonder in the UK only. I don't know if they'll have anymore hits.

Similar hit profile to Christina : I'm Yours 725k, I Won't Give Up 433k... Edited September 7, 201311 yr by vidcapper
September 7, 201311 yr Has anyone mentioned Jason Mraz... Nope. Im sure he'll release another #11 hit in 2015 no doubt.

The Guinness Book of British Hit Singles would disagree with you though and that's really where my definition of 'hit' comes from. Obviously a track that spends just one week at no.75 is only a minor hit, but a hit nonetheless. If you had an act that had a no.1 hit and a no.75 and nothing else then I wouldn't call them a one hit wonder. And this really has happened. 1982 Eurovision winner Nicole made no.1 with 'A Little Peace' and no.75 with the follow up 'Give me More Time'.
