Its not as though having spent about 2-3 weeks in the top 40 has stopped Lawson releasing their album... or McFly with their material...

Even Girls Aloud hit a bit of rough patch when Long Hot Summer was released... and Sexy No No No - neither had any form of longevity in the charts and now they seem to have assumed God Like status :D

lol JLS are over

lol why? Becuase this song hasn't gone to #1? Does that mean The Saturdays and Stooshe and Rizzle Kicks and Misha B and Ed Sheeran and Conor Maynard and Ellie Goulding and Marina & the Diamonds and Skepta and Eliza Doolittle hundreds of other artists are over too, they've never had a #1?

Um, why are you assuming what I'm thinking? Just stop.

Because the GP very blatantly don't care about them anymore? If they hadn't have had that XF performance, I highly doubt they'd still be even in the iTunes top 10, which is SHOCKING considering it's a lead single from a brand new album.

As I said artist go through rough patches - look and the careers of most pop artists - you can't keep up a constant string of number 1's and huge hits - its just not realistic. Yes their sales aren't going to be spectacular and there is obviously a problem at the moment. But it doesn't mean they should just pack up - As I said look at Lawson and McFly for instance - McFly hadn't had a huge long hit for ages until Shine a Light came out, Lawson seem to be having reasonable success with their latest single, the first two singles went top 10 and died on their ass.

Just because something is underporming despite promotion - doesn't signal the end of an act, just something needs to be changed.

How on Earth is it shocking? I don't find it that shocking when massive stars like 50 Cent, Britney Spears, Ciara, Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado, Timbaland, etc. (I could basically name every artist I liked pre-2007 to be quite honest ) have had singles miss the top 100 recently, and here you are saying a JLS single missing the top 10 is "shocking"? It happens to everybody.

Is it a bad thing if the general public don't care about someone? 99% of the public probably don't care about Disclosure or Naughty Boy (unfortunately). It's their own fault that they are missing out on great songs and artists.

Boybands are so hated on Buzzjack - JLS missing the Top 5 and everyone says their career is over, Yet The Saturdays spend 4 weeks in the Top 75 and everyone celebrates that they have notched up another Top 10 hit
JLS hit the iTunes top 10 before the performance didn't they? I think they're doing quite considering most XF acts haven't released a fourth album.

Both suck musically and both deserve to flop hard, is that better? :P

'Sexy! No No No...' was criminally underrated. That and 'Biology' are the only two Girls Aloud songs I like.

Woodkid slipping sharply is not a good thing. :( Shame the track isn't getting any airplay (that I'm aware of) other than the O2 Precision Sports commercial.

It's at #39 on my feed. Surely it will be at least a minor Top 40 hit - a bit like "Little Talks".

Jessie Ware at #137 with "Night Light". FAR TOO LOW. :(

Indeed - Not many X-Factor finalists have managed 10 Top 10 singles and 3 Top 2 albums!

You will be lynched by The Saturday's mafia/stans for a comment like that!

'Little Talks' was a bit more than a minor top 40 hit :P It wasn't exactly super massive but #12 peak and 10+ weeks in the top 40 isn't what I'd call 'minor' especially for an act of their kind.

I'd argue that the fact that they're a boyband gives them an entirely different set of expectations than most X Factor acts but yes, they might be totes flopping and stuff now but they've definitely been a succesful band overall.

The Lawson single seem to be holding up much better than their first two. Maybe they have finally managed to generate some appeal outside the core fan base.

And also the song seems even bigger than its chart run suggests imo.

54. Pink - Try

63. Dappy - Yin Yang - Impressed to see it still climbing, hopefully a top 75 debut.

74. Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl - In My Mind

85. Paloma Faith - Just Be - Still being used in that advert?

The video has started to get played now and Dappy is promoting it on his Twitter and official website so hopefully it will hang around for a bit before its gets properly promoted as a single release.

I think they have actually built their fanbase with this single - The first 2 releases were pushed so hard by Capital Radio but nobody else which is why i think they charted high and dropped quickly but with this release other stations have got on board and they have done some decent TV promo and got airplay for the video
