OK, as with when we have a Saturdays release, it's likely to be a much more "highly charged" week in the i-tunes thread than usual. If we can all try to be nice with each other and disagree politely then we can all can through the week without anyone getting warned!

NOW PLAY NICE! :D

They're both my absolute favourite pop acts and I love both singles so I'll be happy for whoever gets number 1 this week. Olly's got a fair bit of TV lined up this week too and has signed CD copies of Troublemaker for sale on his official website so who knows what will happen. They'll both do amazing I'm sure. I'm Team Olly Aloud. Or Girls A-Murs. :)

#54 Olly Murs

#63 Girls Aloud

Hmm, GA closed the gap from the very first update loads already then, perhaps it's just a Robbie/Wiley situation again - Wiley unexpectedly started ahead in the very early updates but Robbie caught him very quickly.

Nonetheless Olly could easily re-overtake GA again later especially with XF and despite being a lot lower at this stage I would still not rule out Rudimental and/or Alicia presenting a challenge as well.

 383. Not Giving In - Rudimental

 517. Girl On Fire - Alicia Keys

 829. Girl On Fire (feat. Nicki Minaj) [inferno Version] - Alicia Keys

EDIT:

 47. Troublemaker - Olly Murs

 59. Something New - Girls Aloud

 282. Not Giving In - Rudimental

 415. Girl On Fire - Alicia Keys

Rudimental and Alicia both moving v. quickly.

Surely the higher up you get on the Itunes chart the bigger the sales gaps become from one place to another, so the higher up a song gets the smaller the place jumps will be with the same amount sold as bigger jumps lower down the chart.

That's a lame subtitle for this thread.

"Will Olly stop Girls Aloud leading the pack?"

"Troublemaker not giving in to something new"

"Girls on fire not giving in to the troublemaker"

These would have been better.

That one in particular would be a lot better. WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF RUDIMENTAL! to quote Jay mocking me on MSN earlier.

I hope Alicia can get #3-#5 or perhaps even a surprise #1 (although I doubt that would happen)! Otherwise, I would rather have Olly as the #1 or Rudimental if at all possible. :)

I think some people need to calm down and remember it's only a music chart. No one is going to get dropped if they don't get the number one.

Rudimental getting aired by the majority of people here so far reminds me of when D'Banj released on the same day as The Saturdays in May. Everyone was getting gassed about The Saturdays while D'Banj got largely ignored.

This week will be the first time i've ever seen Girls Aloud appear on the iTunes chart. Have they ever been at #1 on iTunes before?

Olly Murs  #38

Girls Aloud  #50

I like that third subtitle suggestion, Pablo

And YES Bre, Rudimental are obviously the most important (and best) of the big new releases this week. It's just basic fact, of course ^_^

Of course... Call The Shots and The Promise were both #1 on iTunes.
Rudimental  214, Alicia  303 + 426. I wonder if the Inferno Version of 'Girl On Fire' will overtake the solo version later?

And Biology.

Something New ep is #1 on the albums chart.

Olly #2.

I'm team GA, I think they're a good mix of Bananarama & the Spice Girls with added rave horns.

Love my British Girl Groups.
