I literally just checked and it wasn't there  Did I get a revert 5 seconds before it went back to the actual chart?

Bruno will do it... he was only like 5K away with all weekend in front of him and he is pulled 20% already and now the performance... he will do it.

Must have reverted

It's risen ~300 or so places in the last hour though, which is a good sign I guess :D

Gabrielle has had another boost this evening now though, the gap is back down to 0.125 :cheer:

I really hope Bruno takes the number 1 this week. The Power of Love is such an empty, cliche song.

Also, Lady Gaga vs. Christina, I wasn't saying Christina was bigger because of her sales. To be honest, I agree that Lady Gaga's album sales were more impressive given the sales climates at each time. I was just talking in a general sense, like popularity, cultural relevence, media coverage, etc, Christina was bigger at her peak for definite.

Well, we will have to agree to disagree because if there's something Xtina was never even CLOSE to Gaga imo is cultural relevance and press coverage.

I really hope Lovebird by Leona does well, it's a shame that this era is going to be a flop. Lovebird is BEAUTIFUL.

I don't know who will be number one this week, no doubt Gabrielle Aplin will recieve a boost during the xFactor tomorrow.

01. Bruno Mars - Locked Out Of Heaven 100%

02. Gabrielle Aplin - The Power Of Love 78.2%

G'won Bruno, Grab that fourth nu1 smash!

As opposed to the adrenline pumping beat of Bruno Mars?

It's a battle of two evils for me. The Bruno song is awful, but I despise these hideous piano driven ballads that murder classic songs. That Birdy Bint has a lot to answer for (I think Ellie Goulding started it with 'Your Song', but I like that one so I'll blame Birdy).

Gabrielle Aplin's song is like the musical equivalent of watching paint dry, but still manages to have a little more life than the Calling one from last year.

I think 'Skyfall' is the only one to go top 40, iirc? Where's The Justice Collective one? Is that one top 40 atm?

I wonder if its an age thing that I've grown to like such songs more than I did 20 years ago? If so, perhaps you should not think ahead a couple of decades... ;)

Oh really :o where did that one peak? I swear it's fallen. Anyway, that will trounce everything this week. I think we have another Military Wives sort of huge hit. 'Scream & Shout' is a very likely #2 contender (depending on who wins XF tomorrow - Chris will get the least successful winners single ever i reckon - charity or not). James looks likely to be the best chance of getting #2 behind JC.

Scream and Shout was played on Alan Carr Chatty Man (during the will.i.am interview). I'm really rooting for Britney to get a #1 out of this, even though i'm not fully in love with the song yet.

It'd be hilarious if will.i.am and Britney got to #1 over Christopher if he won  If James wins, I'll definitely support him and if Jahmene wins probably him too because despite being a fan I imagine I'll like the song based on the choice.

Christopher will probably miss #1 altogether, if he does get it it'll be luck of a quiet week (Justice Collective are releasing on the 16th right?)!

The only person I'll support for #1 is James. If Jahmene or especially Christopher win, I hope they miss out on #1 to Will/Britney! :D
Can't believe will.i.am/Britney have a chance at getting number one! I've been listening to it whenever it comes on the TV and tried to get into it, but the only bit I like is the re-usage of "Britney Bitch". :P The song's worse than Check It Out, because that was at least catchy!
BTW, does anyone here deliberately hold off purchasing songs until after Xmas, in the hope they'll get iTunes vouchers?

The XF winner (and will.i.am) are both released the week before The Justice Collective. The XF winner will probably get an easy week at #1 although if it is Christopher then will.i.am MIGHT have a chance (which would make him the second person of the year - after Rita Ora - to get 3 #1s!) but the week after that The Justice Collective are going to crush absolutely everything.
