Glad the greatest christmas song of all time in my book stayed in. Its strange the way in the middle week of december the xmas hits slide a bit but then obv rise the sunday of the xmas chart, though that might not be as apparent this year with sunday and mondays sales being divided up!!

 

Love reading slades chart history - they loved the charts and kept making mini comebacks until they made a big comeback in 1980-84 period and even had a top 40 hit as late as 1991!!

 

Why did Merry Christmas Everybody make such an impact in 1983 in comparison to 1981/82, was there more copies or something?

Some bands simply didn't include their singles on their albums. Many Beatles singles also didn't appear on their albums.
