Emeli could seriously end up beating Adele's run in the top 10 at the rate she's going. (With far fewer weeks at #1 though).

Justice Collective should get to number 1 now that they have the advantage on both digital and physical - ugh. But on a better note, BIG UP East London! :D (even if £1 Fish was funnier before it was remixed like this), would anyone happen to know the last singer from the East end to go top 40?

Was going to say that was unlikely seeing as they seem to have exhausted the singles from the album but then even hype left over from this year and her presumed continuing incessant promotion will probably keep her going well into 2014. Oh for the days when 'Daddy' flopped and it seemed like she might be an underrated gem :(

Loads of artists are from the East End! You only had to watch Radio 1's Hackney Weekend to know this! Labrinth was most likely the last to top the chart, if it classes as some kind of record?

I don't know if you can call some of these people singers but:

Wiley

Tinchy Stryder

Devlin

I think Lethal Bizzle as well is from East London

Leona Lewis (EDIT: Leona is from North London)

That's all i can think of for now.

I did think rappers would make up a big majority of that what with popular grime influenced pop is these days, dunno why I didn't think of that  (I didn't know that about Labrinth though)

Kylie has big promo coming up on Alan Carr friday night, where i think she is singing her Abbey Road version of Better The Devil You know, which will go down very well i am sure !!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo:  :cheer:

She is also performaing on Hit Factory concert, that although is not Abbey related, it should give her some more exposure in the media! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Thumbs up for Kylie @ number 28, and Girls Aloud up 10 places @22, lets hope they climb or remain static for the remainder of the week. Now Olly @number 2 is great as it means another very high selling week but i really wanted him number 1. I really did not expect anyone other than Olly or Buble to be sitting at the top. The question now is which we probably wont find out is are the sales very close or has Emeli Sande it wrapped up. I dont dislike Emeli, instead i have grown tired off her as she is just bloody everywhere.

James losing the number 1 position, i am not fully convinced this race is over just yet, as 3,500 isnt a lot, hopefully he can pull it in and steal back the pole position. Its all to play to play so let battle continue.

She will not last long... no personality, always wears, styled the same etc, melancholic music...... give her maybe one more album that will do OK, then out.......

Glad to see that she's number 1 again hoping for 130,000+

Emeli Sande will find the next era hard, she has a tough debut to follow. It will also be worth noting who she will duet with as 2 of her biggest hits have been duets. For the next album do to near as well she would need even more promotion than Our Version of Events and can she possible do any more promotion than she has done for this album?I think not.

Wonder how close the top albums are - think Buble will pull ahead in the end. The biggest surprise in the albums is the success of Neill Diamond's album. He keeps increasing every week!!

250k sold in the top 5 which averages at 50k per album although of course it wont be as balanced as that - wonder if the top 6/7 could braek 100k like we though. Think Rod Stewart is under performing a bit - peoiple seem to want Buble instead.

Think if Jake Bugg has his album reduced in january he could top the chart!

The Justice Collective’s Hillsborough tribute single has extended its lead over X Factor winner James Arthur, but 2012 Christmas Number 1 is by no means over.

According to the Official Charts Company’s latest sales data, The Justice Collective’s cover of He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother has increased its lead over James Arthur’s Impossible after its first four days on sale.

The all-star group, who are raising funds and awareness for the ongoing legal battle of the families of the Hillsborough tragedy, started the week trailing the X Factor winner by 3,000 copies. Yesterday (Wednesday, December 20) The Justice Collective surged ahead of James Arthur by 3,400, and today they have extended their lead to 14,000 copies with sales of 146,000 vs Arthur’s 132,000.

This year’s battle is not as clear-cut as the race to the 2011 Christmas Number 1. Last year The Military Wives and Gareth Malone’s Wherever You Are surged ahead of then X Factor winners Little Mix’s Cannonball by 186,000 copies midweek, with these early sales putting them firmly on course to their place at the top of the Official Christmas Singles Chart. However, this year’s race to Number 1 is expected to go right down to the wire, with fans of both acts battling it out to Saturday evening’s midnight cut off point.

The Official Charts Company’s Managing Director, Martin Talbot said "This is the closest Number 1 battle we can remember,” he added that "it is even closer than 2009 battle between Rage Against The Machine and Joe McElderry."

The Official Christmas Number 1 will be revealed on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart Show with Reggie Yates and the full Top 100 will be posted on www.officialcharts.com this Sunday (December 23).

In related news, after just 11 days James Arthur’s Impossible is now the seventh biggest selling debut single by an X Factor artist of all time. In a week and a half, it has overtaken the lifetime sales of Little Mix’s Cannonball (Number 10), 2007 winner Leon Jackson’s When You Believe (Number 9) and JLS’s Beat Again (Number 8) with sales of over 622,000. He now has his sights firmly set on overtaking One Direction’s debut single, What Makes You Beautiful (781,000). You can see how the Top 10 biggest selling X Factor artists’ debut singles and album stood before this year’s final, here.

Incidentally thanks to Alex Day (yes all you people that had a go at him take it back! :arrr: ) we know that he had sold 10k by Tuesday when he was No 10 and that Will.i.am/ Britney had sold 23k by the same point. Old news I know but something extra!
Isn't Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah the biggest X-Factor single (debut or otherwise) of all time??
The Rage vs. Joe battle was so much more exciting though due to the vast swings in momentum with every update. This is close saleswise but it's easy to see that the momentum has picked up for JC due to the news coverage and that they'll walk it now, not much of a battle remaining to be honest...

Yeah the Rage no1 was unreal and no-one knew what would be no1 until 7pm on the Sunday night because it all changed on saturday - imo bbecause Joe appeared on the front page of the Sun newspaper with Rage on a dart board haha!!

He didnt take losing out too well either what with not speaking on the chart show to Scott Mills!

Just heard that £1 Fish "song" for the first time. What a load of utter tripe.

I don't think we are going to see huge sales like the Military Wives though, leading 146k for 3 days. I should imagine we are looking at 300k or just under. James will probably be looking at 250k or less which is roughly a 50% drop.

Okay it's definitely starting to look like TJC have it now then if they've stretched their lead by 11k. Hoping they can top 250k for the week. So relieved they're still going to see off James despite it looking uncertain earlier in the week.

It's probably going to have an even worse chart run than Military Wives though (and without the HUGE sales week to make up for it).
