TV promotion is so important these days, quality album tbf to Emeli though, pity Olly probably won't climb back to number 1 and could even drop to 3 with this traditionally being Buble's biggest week.

100k pre-orders is a sneaky thing, I bet it is pre-orders the physical has sold to HMV/supermarkets rather than hard sales over the tills.

Still this midweek says to me TJC should have it, to make up basically a whole day in physicals sales means they should be more than making up the slight loss to James in downloads right now.

That's always what pre-orders means, but fans always misunderstand it.

On the overall HMV best sellers chart James Arthur CD is #2 and TJC #3 - On Amazon its the other way round so still looks as though it's going to be a close battle.
So i take it the media reports that over 100,000 copies of TJC being pre-ordered was rubbish then? Surely those sales would have been added to the first update?

Not necessarily - even with digital downloads you actually has to collect it for it to count as a sale.

Has Michael Buble's album been reissued with new tracks or something? Also you've got to admit that's incredible for Emeli Sande. Kudos to her management team getting her slots on all of 2012's biggest TV events. Even if her album has taken about three times as long to sell 1 million copies compared to Adele '21'.

Also interesting to see the close sales in the singles chart although like Jonjo mentioned, TJC not getting released yesterday could be crutial to how well the single does this week (isn't Sunday usually the biggest day for sales?)

On a seperate note, the idea of pre-ordering a download does seem daft. I could understand with CD's (limited stock etc) so ensuring you get your physical copy before stores run out. Downloads will never run out of stock so to pre-order a download just seems ironic to me (unless iTunes only sell the track for a limited time before it's removed of course).

I think he's added 4 tracks to it Hits :D

They have added the songs which were available on the Deluxe edition last year to a 'new' expanded standard CD this year and added one new song so pretty impressive that its shifting so many copies - Can see this becoming a Christmas chart stalwart for the next few years!

But then you get some albums where you get a track/ extra tracks if you pre-order, other than that you're right though...

Also price. I've pre-ordered a few download EPs/albums when the price seems lower than a similar new release would normally cost. Don't want it costing more when it's officially released!

as if JLS' new single is 160th in the charts...wow

Turns out I was being wildly over-optimistic predicting #37!

Anyone see JLS splitting in 2013? Fanbase has moved on, flop singles and album.

I think Aston will try and go solo....will get a top 5, then fade. Ortise will manage his poundland girlband Vida and wait for them to get a #200 smash :D JB, will probably try I'm a Zeleb, Marvin the same and focusing on being a Dad with Rochelle.

The release has been handled awfully, to be fair. I don't believe there are physicals and there's no sign of a music video either. Between the farcical handling of this and Leona's 'Lovebird', it's almost like Syco is trying to make the "old reliables" do as badly as possible.

Totally agree - Its almost as if Syco want/need an excuse to drop both acts, Neither were given even a slot of the Xtra Factor to try and push their new singles, Leona had no promo or E.P available on iTunes, JLS have no video for either song, no promo and the tiniest of mentions that they even have a new release out on their official website!

I know JLS have been on the slide for a while in terms of their popularity - But to follow up a #6 single and #3 album with a single that is likely to miss the Top 200 is just not reflective of their fanbase, An act does not fade that fast after so many years of success - It indicates that even their core fanbase have no clue they have released anything let alone the general public!

Oh, you've got to love how clueless Syco are! :D

Maybe their fans have jumped on Wanted and OneD, until a new band comes along where Wanted and OneD fans just move on to the next band that comes along. Its like a vicious circle.

SyCo only seem to be good at focusing on one artist at a time. At the moment it's James Arthur getting the star treatment. They probably expected JLS and Leona to sell on name alone and no artist can do this successfully without airplay. I've still not heard the new Leona single so if there is a music video, I'm not seeing it whenever I put it on the music channels.

'Diamonds' by Rihanna, on the other hand, seems to be getting raped on music channels at the moment.
