I usually just want my favourite song to get #1, regardless of how much it sells. Like I'm happy Promises got #1 because I love that song, and Nero in general (although I have to say JLS re-climbing to #1 would've been amusing to see).

 

Also, can anybody do an update of the 59p songs please? I don't have iTunes so I can't, but there's so much weird stuff in the top 200 atm. Bootylicious, Hollaback Girl, Rack City, Welcome to the Black Parade, 7 Days, etc. :blink:

Ah, I thought you really hated that song. Sorry, I was probably thinking of someone else. I remember when it got to #1 there were numerous melt-downs because it was "too quiet" or something. :lol:

 

I think the whole of Buzzjack had a collective groan at Wretch beating Emeli Sande and Moves Like Jagger to #1. Me included, I don't really hate it but I wouldn't listen to it out of choice, plus 'Moves...' and to a lesser extent 'Heaven' are much more remembered than 'Don't Go'.

 

On a more related note I am definitely on #Team50Cent for #1 :cheer: The new Justin Timberlake track is very disappointing by his standards. "SexyBack" "My Love" "Lovestoned (I Think She Knows)" and "What Goes Around Comes Around" were all amazing :wub: "Suit & Tie" just isn't for me :(

At the time I preferred 'Don't Go' to the other two - I obviously still massively prefer it to 'Moves Like Jagger' but have grown to love 'Heaven' so, so much more so retrospectively a shame it couldn't manage #1. 'Don't Go' was a very good #1 though, it was at least different to more or less every other #1 of recent years.

 

Supporting Timberlake for #1 this week :P Failing that 50 Cent if only because will.i.am has already been #1 and I'm going off 'Scream & Shout'. Even if 'My Life' would likely be one of the lowest selling #1s of the year (are Capital playing it at all?)

Don't Go was initially heading for higher total sales than Heaven (which was impressive, since it had much less promotion at the time, Heaven was played on nearly all major radio stations pre-release, even Heart FM, whilst Don't Go was only really on Radio 1), but Heaven kept re-entering the charts the year after when Emeli got huge and kept performing on TV all the time. If Emeli had disappeared after Heaven, I think Don't Go would've sold more.

No, they're not (yet). :( That's basically the reason I think it might struggle to pass 200,000. After Radio 1 drop it from their playlist, it's hardly going to get any exposure to the general public from then on. Probably mainly rely on MTV play.

It got Top 15, but was the 4th single to be taken from Justified after 3 number 2 hits previous, so didn't do that bad. Can't remember how long it hung around Top 40 for, probably 3-4 weeks as that was the norm back then for non top 10 hits.

I meant more in the sense that I thought all his other tracks were more well remembered. I didn't think anyone cared for that track anymore (if ever :lol:)

Unorthodox is my least favourite of his singles as well (infact, one of my least favourites on the entire album). I don't strongly hate it, but I never listen to it anymore. I love Traktor, Don't Go and Forgiveness.
