I think that the turning point for Emeli was when she released songs that wouldn't sound out of place for maximum airplay of radio stations such as Heart. :drama:

But her album is incredible, I took a long break from not listening to it but when I got back into it recently, I found that there are loads of good songs on that album.

Oh my god, that goat video is hilarious! It really has cheered me up.

WOW! *mind blown* I seriously cannot stop LOLing!

People said that about Emeli Sande back when she had only released 'Heaven' and 'Daddy'; now look at her!

Emeli had been featured on tracks with Chumpmunk and Naughty Boy and Heaven reached no.2 before she was given the award. Tom Odell hasn't even been had a top 40 hit yet. Jessie, Emeli, Adele all had songs in the charts by this time.

That's a very good point, it's a shame that it's harder for men to break through into the mainstream when it's a lot easier for women to do so. :(

Really? The charts are usually male dominated! When was the last female Justin Bieber or female Conor Maynard. Imo it's a lot harder for girls because they don't have loads of teenage girl fanbases to help them out!

But in terms of Emeli and Tom, Emeli would find it easier because she's more mainstream.

OK then, it's easier for females and certain types of male artists to break through. There's no male equivalent to Rita Ora or Jessie Ware out there. :(

I discovered this last night and pretty much haven't stopped watching it. Safe to say I'll never look at that song in the same way again.

The explicit version of Lil Wayne's 'Love Me' has finally been released and is already well ahead of the clean version (currently #64, with the clean version down to #94).
 6. Taylor Swift - I Knew You Were Trouble (and 21, 33.)

The goat effect? :o :D

Power Trip by J Cole is in the top 100. It's such a good song. J Cole got top 100 on UK iTunes before, but I forgot which song it was, probably Work Out or Can't Get Enough.
29. Bastille - Pompeii EP - Pre Order

i hope this smashes next week

Top 3 in Ireland at the moment, so hopefully it will match it here.

That's pretty incredible. Not many pre-orders can do that! I imagine an easy top 5 now, but not enough for #1 though! Also, hopefully Wiley and Paramore can get top 10 as well as Ellie Goulding [Explosions], after it was knocked out last week.

Just heard the new Wiley track, its lacking something from his previous hits, honestly I can't see the track top 10, top 20 the most I say, Heatwave is so much better.

Paramore's track is alright, probably top 30/40 peak though, same goes for Laura Mvula.

Hopefully Bastille will go all the way, otherwise top 5 for sure.

The goat effect? :o :D
I thought this for a split second, but I'm thinking it's definitely more "The Graham Norton" effect, but WHO KNOWS? :P

Why are people predicting Bastille to get any lower than top 3? I personally, can't see how he won't reach number 1. Ideally, I'd prefer 'Mirrors', but I think that'll have to settle for a number 4 peak next week and the top 3 between Baauer, Bastille & One Direction. But I do hope Justin can somehow (release a radio edit goddamnit!) top the charts.

Are Bastille going to be another one of those annoying bands which people talk about as if they're a solo artist :kink: Sorry.

But yeah, looking at Irish iTunes there's no way Bastille are missing the top 3 now I think.

'GWON TAYLOR with your goat effect
