I have to add James Arthur here. I know he has hardly started his career but I think his voice is absolutely horrible.

I don't understand why one million people bought his first (dire) single.

I agree 100%. He has a terrible voice and that single was absolutely awful.

It was better than Shontelle's original, by a country mile.

Except that it wasn't.

First time, No doubt, that Cilla Black is a legend.

Kate Bush is ONLY freak (watch Nina Hagen, Lene Lovich) and VERY unlistenable singer (watch Bjork) and she is NOTHING as singer-songwriter in compare with... for simple LYNSEY DE PAUL.

You need to do some research before making statements like that.

She IS known in the US though. And I'd say she gets just as much recognition as those other artists.

she is only known in gay clubs in San Fransisco and New York, apart from that, she's only known in the US as the girl who covered 'The Locomotion', and then came back 14 years later with a dance hit in the shape of 'Can't Get you out of my head',.... and that coming from the biggest Kylie fan ever, and who has spent 6 months in the US...

Just because Madonna has struggled with MDNA and Kylie did pretty well with Aphrodite doesn't mean Kylie has surpassed her... Rita Ora's album sold more than Kate Bush's last one and that doesn't mean Rita Ora is suddenly bigger and better :drama:

r u trying to compare 2 UK hit wonder Rita Whora with the Princess of Pop Kylie??? :o

Yeah, okay then.

It's a valid comparison.

Hate to defend Rita Whora, but she can't be a '2 hit UK wonder' when she's had 5 UK top 20 hits, 3 of which got to #1

The Wanted are hardly immune from criticism, they've spent far too long rehashing their only truly good song and "Lightning" is the only one of the clones I'd consider listenable. That said, "Glad You Came" remains possibly the best boyband single of this generation of groups and "Warzone" at least tried to be different.

One Direction are so awful you have to assume it's intentional - every one of their non-ballads has the same godawful drum track on it which wasn't any good at giving them any pop-rock credentials the first time they tried it.

JLS are probably the most consistently listenable of the three for me, their only proper howler being "The Club Is Alive". Even "Everybody In Love" sounds like a well-constructed slow jam compared to the sub-Ed Sheeran dross that 1D are crapping out.

Florence and the machine - her voice is excruciatingly awful and none of her/their songs deserve to be as big as they are imo.

Rihanna - I have liked a lot of her stuff but overall I still find her very overrated.

Fall Out Boy - Bar that #5 hit from earlier in the year, they have the potential to be my worst existance of a band. It's his bloody voice that makes me want to be punch him. Aargh!

Cher Lloyd - not getting the hype for her at all ie on X factor or when she's releasing music.

Jessie J - on and off with her but in general she's extremely irritating and she believes her own hype too much imo.

Lana Dull Rey - Again I don't see the appeal with her beside Summertime Sadness. Her songs are so dreary and morbid even if that's the point she's making with her music. It's a no for me!

JLS - No one song I like of theirs. Defo overrated drivel. Sorry.

Cheryl - Bar one or two songs, she is so average as an artist.

Leona - Liked her around the beginning but has really grated on me and she's extremely overhyped in the stakes of X factor winners.

One Direction

Only good song to their name is Kiss You so far. The Wanted were always so much better, even JLS had more than one decent song to their name! All hype, no substance.

+1 i have to agree with everything you said there!
