01 Justin Timberlake - Mirrors

02 Duke Dumont ft. A*M*E - Need U (100%)

03 Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis ft. Wanz - Thrift Shop

04 The Saturdays ft. Sean Paul - What About Us

05 Avicii vs. Nicky Romero - I Could Be The One

06 Bingo Players ft. Far East Movement - Get Up

07 will.i.am. & Britney Spears - Scream & Shout

08 PJ & Duncan - Let's Get Ready To Rhumble

09 James Arthur - Impossible

10 One Direction - One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)

Only the Top 4 I would really consider being worthy of the Number 1.

Does anybody know where 'Pour It Up' is for Rihanna? I don't think it's been in the top 100 yet?

#190 United Kingdom

Hang on, I haven't even rated them.

At this point last year, at least I owned Gotye.

I would agree that Mirrors/Need U/Thrift Shop/What About Us have all been deserving number ones.

One Direction and James Arthur don't really count IMO - both were covers of already good songs so they would have struggled to do badly out of them (especially off the back of them both being charity singles).

The only number one I have really disliked this year is Bingo Players.

Ludovico Einaudi - I giorni :left: #67

I cant believe no one has clocked that this Italian song is in the top 100 yet :o

I think someone did actually mention it earlier. I think it charted top 40 a couple of years ago. At least one of his songs did. Weird that it's back though!

"i giorni" went top 40 2 years ago thanks to a Greg James campaign to download it. A few days ago I saw Radio 1 post about it on their Facebook page, I'm guessing Greg James has been talking about it on his show again.

It's an amazing song  Listen to it now if you didn't back in 2011!

This years no.1s?

PJ & Duncan>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>everything.

I've never been more serious.

Yes, I've noticed that as well.

I think it's because the UK radio system is quite influenced by the charts (for example songs like Someone Like You and Price Tag which came out of "nowhere" and went to #1 did the same on the airplay chart only a few weeks after). In other countries, like the US, I've noticed it's the opposite. Songs can be top 10 on iTunes for months and still not get much airplay (e.g. Home by Phillip Phillips, it took SOOOOO long to become a proper hit), and there's other songs which do really poorly on iTunes there, but do well in airplay.

Yeah that's true so it's the system that's at fault IMO not on air on sale!

Do we think Paramore's performance on Graham Norton will have any effect on 'Still Into You''s performance? I hope so, it's a brilliant track and derserves to do at least a little better than 'Now'!

I think 2013 has had a great set of #1s thus far. I'm sorry but "Scream & Shout" is a future classic, regardless of how split audiences are about it. Bar the charity tracks ("Impossible", "One Way or Another" and "Let's Get Ready to Rhumble" [let's not forget!]), I'd say only "Get Up (Rattle)" wasn't really 'deserving' of #1 status. I think it was more a case of the release being so held back that it just HAD to do well, though the second week at #1 certainly removes the element of front-loaded-ness.

I scowled then, and I still do now, at comments saying Avicii & Nicky Romero was going to be a non-number 1. I believe one poster reckoned it'd only managed 9 weeks in the T40, but managed 6 weeks in the T10 alone and is still T15 (on Sunday) on its eighth week.

Uh, no it's not.

Hope so though Now seems to be the current single as its getting allot of radio plays so maybe it would have been able to take advantage of the performance?!

The only thing it is going to be remembered for is how terrible it is.

It is going to be the track that people, ten years down the line, will look back on and cringe that they bought it. Similar to the likes of 'Who Let The Dogs Out?', 'Cha Cha Slide' etc.

Only if they remember the radio-censored version - Britney's potty mouth gives it more appeal otherwise... ;)

It's not a song that is in the vain of those two songs in any way (e.g. a novelty song) and a song that sells over 600,000 copies considering what I've just said is not a song that will just be looked back and cringed on.

I'm sorry but I do think that you are slightly biased with your hate sometimes.
