Lucy Spraggan is out that week too! If she gets support from TV and Radio then she could be a top 5 contender too. And there is a chance that Sebastian Ingrosso's single 'Reload' could also do well after the relative success of 'Calling (Lose My Mind)'.

The Saturdays are more likely to have 5 weeks at number one with 'Gentleman' than Lucy Spraggon going top 5 with 'Lighthouse. she will not get any airplay support apart from In Demand (which only played her song because of TITP). It's already dropped to #207 on Pre-orders.

I thought Union J would be a certainty for number one, I guess they might have to settle for 3rd, which would be quite pleasing. I think the next song at number one will be The Wanted - Walks Like Rihanna, the airplay and pre-orders have been fantastic!

Daft Punk 4 weeks

Naughty Boy 1 week

Robin Thicke 4 weeks

The Wanted 1 week

Icona Pop 4 weeks, a pretty pattern is forming :D

I just have a feeling that Radio 1 might support her. According to her music video, she is with Syco along with Columbia so I'm sure they will do something to get her some support at least. Time will tell! :kink:

Really surprised Union J's pre-order is not doing better - only #108 still and Fuse ODG out on the same week is higher (#77). Then again I suppose they only have C-List support on R1. I think Union J will still have the highest new entry but they could have to settle for low top 5 with Daft Punk, Passenger and Robin Thicke likely still hanging around strongly.

Stylo G's EP is #75, should go top 10 next week then. I've heard 'Soundbwoy' a couple of times on R1 but can't really remember how it goes.

Don't think Robin Thicke will have 4 weeks at #1, Dizzee Rascal and Jason Derülo will both probably be contenders for #1 on the fourth week. He should quite easily manage 3 unless he's really frontloaded (maybe Daft Punk could climb back to #1 so Pharrell still gets to replace himself there) or Icona Pop release early. The Wanted's pre-order is doing well and they're getting loads of airplay so they're probably a good shout for a #1 but I somehow have a feeling something will pop up to block them (possibly Icona Pop). It's a little bit too far into the future to predict really.

The slayage.

It's iTunes 'free single of the week' so I'm suprised it's even that high.

#59 for Texas :cheer:

Am I pushing it hoping for a top 75 peak this week?

Surprised at Olly being almost Top5 combined and The Saturdays back in the Top40. Guess they'll hang around the charts a lot longer than I'd imagined.
Initially I disliked it, thinking it was simply a What's My Name rehash (which tbh, it is. Wasn't surprised at all that Stargate produced it.) But after I heard it on Radio 1, it just clicked.
I'm sorry, but I am not hearing any similarities to 'What's My Name' at all!
Hmm, the single version of 'Get Lucky' has been deleted from Irish iTunes. Really hope that doesn't happen here, after all it *is* a different version and the radio edit is not available on any other album :( I expect its sales will start to trail off now anyway but it'd still be a silly move.

Me neither (apart from "na na na" but lots of songs have that). I think the chorus sounds more like Talk That Talk if anything.

I'm surprised Selena did a song like this, it's kind of like when Britney released I'm a... Slaaaaaaaaaaave 4 U or Christina released Dirrty, except this hasn't been controversial really.

They deleted it from US iTunes as well. That's such a stupid thing to do imo.

It reminds me of Rihanna's 'Lost In Paradise', but even then it's only little bits
Looking at the release schedule Robin Thicke could get a good run at #1 (4 to 5 weeks), unless Wiley's and Dizzee with Robbie singles get in the way. I can't see Union J at #1, or Icona Pop's single drops early, since some fakes are appearing.

Wiley's single doesn't stand a chance, it's a post album single, and not very high on iTunes right now. I think it might miss the top 40. Dizzee/Robbie maybe though.

Are we talking about 'Lights On'? Because that's album only on iTunes.

They always do that in the USA so that's hardly surprising. Less often it happens in the UK/Ireland...

97. Ho Hey - Lennon, Stella & Maisy Stella

Okay then. :drama:

EDIT: Googled it and it seems to be something related to this Nashville TV show which I gather is a country version of Glee. Joy.

On the subject of future number 1s, anyone else think the new Katy B song could stand a chance when its eventually released?

I remember seeing Hayden Panettiere high on UK iTunes a while ago and I was very confused, since I was sure she's an actress, not a pop singer, but it was from that show too.

I can see 'Blurred Lines' going to number one for 3 weeks, I think by the fourth week, it's sales won't be enough to hold off 'Goin' Crazy' - unless 'Blurred Lines' is heading for 'Get Lucky' sized sales which I can't see happening. Dizzee/Robbie may stay for a second week if The Wanted's 'Walks Like Rihanna' opens with similar sales to previous singles 'Chasing the Sun' and 'I Found You' (I believe they both sold 70k-80k in their first week). 'Goin' Crazy' would have to open with sales of over 100k in its first week to manage a second week at number one though.

1st July sees a chart battle between John Newman and Icona Pop, unless the latter is moved earlier which could be if, like you say, fakes are appearing.

Olly's #8 now with 'Dear Darlin' - imagine it might go top 5 after his Alan Carr performance tonight. Robin Thicke must be a dead on cert for number 1 surely? I'm so glad they brought that one forward, it's a tune.

I hope 'Get Lucky' isn't deleted from iTunes. What a terrible decision when you consider songs like 'Iris' and 'Chasing Cars' are constant staples in the iTunes top 200 (more than usually anyways). Why not delete those tracks while they're at it. The album version alone won't help the track become a million seller. :(

Anyways, 'Blurred Lines' is a shoe in for #1 next week although I think all chart followers had realised this at the start of the week. I do hope 'I Love It' is brought forward. Even releasing it on the 9th June would be ok as Robin Thicke is probably going to get 2 weeks at least at #1.

Still hope Union J don't get anywhere near #1 when 'Carry You' is released. However, I think The Wanted are pretty much a given for one week wonder status sadly. :drama:

Been there, done that with 'Chasing Cars'. :P And 'Iris' had been ineligible for the chart until 2007 so sort of counts too. But I do agree a version of 'Get Lucky' shouldn't be deleted, in fact no song should.
