Reminds me a bit of Dear Jon 'One Gift Of Love' - The song that should have represented us and romped home in 1995!

just heard the live version. I've been moaning about the BBC for years and their hopeless attempts to lose,... I mean win!

First real chance of winning since Jessica Garlick, it's a good song, good sentiment, good singer, great tone to her voice and she's youngish and much more credible for it. For once, the BBC got it right....

Heard the studio version but was seriously underwhelmed by it. Really needs a punchier beat and to be remixed by Chase & Status or something.

That said she does the song wonders live so I'm not doubting the UK's chances.

I don't think that was the final version. I kind of ruined it for myself listening to the live version like 20 times, but the studio version is growing on me already.
Has somebody said it isn't the final version? Surely they could have just had the reveal at a later date if it wasn't ready, so I'd say that's it.

Well there was a Facebook post on Sunday from someone connected to a Swedish mastering studio that said that the song was still being mastered then so there's a chance that we don't have that final mastered version yet.

Peter has spoken. The discussion is over.

:kink:

Really like our entry this year! I think the UK do really well for once this year!
I keep finding myself singing 'power to the people' but i'm still a little underwhelmed by the overall production. hoping that we haven't heard the final mix yet.

So 4 days in and I'm starting to appreciate the song so much more compared to when I heard it the first evening.

I still doubt we will get too high as it's usually rigged but a top 5/3 placing would be ideal for me since it's certain we won't win it.

I'm really hoping they rig it for the UK to WIN so this kind of comments gets turned on its head.

But we do currently only have competition from Hungary and Romania and neither of those countries have won before and the songs aren't amazing. I can't see people voting for another scandi win this year and id like to hope people will boycott voting russia. So depending on how strong the songs are that are yet to be released i can only see Azerbaijan/Greece being of any threat... but maybe i'm wrong ;p haha

Even if we won with Fairytale/Euphoria scores it STILL wouldn't be proof for some people and we'd get the same comments.

"I wonder how much it cost to buy all those votes?"

"LOL we only won coz Europe hates us and wants us to pay for it all"

"It was all rigged for us to win anyway"

Best to ignore them.

One of the comments I had when I mentioned the UK's chances this year to a friend was "oh we'll never win!" and I'm like "Bitch, you won 5 times already! You know how many times Portugal won? NONE! pffffft"
I think the general thing in the UK is that we LOVE TO MOAN. We will moan if we lose, moan if we win and we will moan for every position in between for any reason imaginable.
