http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Billb...British_artists

From this list it can be seen that the following UK acts managed a US but never managed a UK #1:

Seal (although he sung on Adamski's Killer)

Jay Sean

Jay Sean sticks out like a SORE THUMB on that list. :D
I think Blurred Lines and/or Get Lucky might be added to this list soon. They're both climbing the chart very fast.

Quick list of artists with 2+. No prizes for guessing who's on top :P

Erm, no. The names that really stick out are the wonderful EMF and the genius who is Peter Gabriel. I could also add Cutting Crew as the lead singer was in the year above me at school.

Surely the names that stick out are Genesis and Mike & The Mechanics, because Mike Rutherford was in both bands? Peter Gabriel was of course an ex-member of Genesis when he knocked them off the top after only one week.
I think maybe he meant Jay Sean sticks out because he's current, whilst the rest were from quite a while ago in comparison.
Thanks for this :D

You might want to clarify that, since Adele *has* had a UK #1 - just not with *that* song...

Given the man QUITE PATENTLY follows the charts isn't it really bloody obvious what he meant?
Erm, no. The names that really stick out are the wonderful EMF and the genius who is Peter Gabriel. I could also add Cutting Crew as the lead singer was in the year above me at school.

Pardon? Jay Sean is the only one on the list who's had a hit in the last five years and still has potential for another hit song. I thought you of all people would be able to realise that!

Given the man QUITE PATENTLY follows the charts isn't it really bloody obvious what he meant?

Not necessarily - the fact that I found it potentially ambiguous, means that others might, too.

I think Blurred Lines and/or Get Lucky might be added to this list soon. They're both climbing the chart very fast.

'Blurred Lines', yes. I reckon that will be the next US no. 1 but can't see Daft Punk topping the US charts.

Out of interest, how many of those transatlantic #1 hits were simultaneous?
