SABBATH! A proper band at the top of the albums chart ^_^

So there have been fake bands at #1?

I don't know when the chart forum got filled with so many close-minded idiots but we could really use a clearout of the music snobs right now.
That Michael idiot and his Kanye-hating friend + Sabbath dude. 3 is too many.

Even one is too many.

I wouldn't call Michael a 'music snob' as annoying as his repeated P!nk/JT bashing is. It's only 2 artists. That'd be like calling me a snob for not liking Maroon 5. And I don't know who this Kanye hating person is.

(It's possible I just filter out these more offensive posts)

It's bugger all to do with that, mate.

I'm 23 and bought the deluxe edition on release day. Going to see them on tour as well and most of the people I know who have bought tickets are under 30.

It's just timeless, brilliant metal music, you don't have to be a father or an old man to appreciate that

No need to be so defensive about that, even overlooking the fact that it's possible to be a father and under 30. It's worth noting that Sabbath had a successful compilation album last Father's Day.

Mind you, I am getting the impression that the Sabbath do appeal to a broader age range than Beady Eye.

I don't know if that is referring to me (since I criticised him a few days ago), but if it is then you might need to have a re-think of what a music snob or a "closed-minded idiot" is. I don't stick my nose up at Kanye, he obviously has talent, I just don't put him on a pedastal and see him as the music God he wants us to view him as.

Why would you think it more likely for me to not know what a music snob is than be referring to someone else?

Does it really matter who likes and who doesn't like Kanye West? there's more important things going on in the world to worry about.

I would usually agree with you but in the case of all of them, I think they're just sharing their opinion.

I thought it was snobs who liked Kanye anyway?

NEWSFLASH

I am officially a MUSIC SNOB.

(even though I'm not)

Robin Thicke increasing by around 23,000 per day then (given the totals given for COP Tuesday and COP Thursday) - which would equate to a final total of ~ 176-184K. Quite impressive and looks to be around the top of the estimate I made on Wednesday, and only around a 10% drop in sales week-on-week.

Someone you disagree with being a "music snob" doesn't excuse you for having terrible taste.

I like how one fan of a fairly uncommercial band is a snob derailing the forum, yet several Jennifer Lopez fans are an endearing evening of entertainment.

I don't know why you think anyone should be excused for their taste and similarly I don't know anyone who didn't take part in the J-Lo night that thought it was enjoyable.

WoW, Robin Thicke/T.I./Pharrell' sales are UP again... This time last week they were on 118k.

I think it was more in the way the post came across as "snobbish" as opposed to him referring to the band he likes. If one of my favourite acts got to number 1 or whatever I personally wouldn't go around saying things like "finally a proper artist at number 1". It did come off as snobbish and like his opinion was better than everyone elses (whether it was intended to come across that way I don't know) fair enough be happy that one of your favourite acts have got to number 1 or whatever, but surely there's a better way to get your opinion across instead of coming across so one minded

Edit: Oh I'm not saying ags did mean it to come across the way it did, it's just that to the standard member it's easy to see why it came off the way it did.

Another stunning week for Robin Thicke, incredible! And yes at Agnetha's huge rise, would be great for this album to show some longevity in the top 75 rather than being a 'in for a month and out' fanbase purchase.
