It was on one of his EP's that got released at the back end of last year as I downloaded it then. It was on the R1 playlist about then too as he was in the Sound of 2013. It looks to be re-issued this week to me.

Thanks was just looking for a release date really, have one for last november for my PChart anyway!

I definitely think it's because of the will.i.am feature. Whether we like to admit it or not, he is a bit of a big name atm (especially at the moment with his The Voice connection). Had it been the solo Ke$ha version, I doubt it would have touched the top 500. Smart move on her part though.

Completely forgot Will was on it. Ye, I think that is the biggest factor. Especially with The Voice on, his songs normally get boosted, so I guess people see his name and listen to it.

A 59p reduction would be a smart move. Hope it does get reduced in the next batch!

Edit: "Crazy Kids" has a 2nd version at #447 and rising too. Hopefully that will secure its place in the top 40 this week.

I wonder if we can assume the fact that the new 'I Love It' fake hasn't been deleted yet, means Icona Pop's label can't delete this one? Since the previous ones all disappeared pretty much as soon as they hit the top 40. I'm still pretty sure that cover versions are legal as long as they've both (a) completely reproduced the production themselves (i.e. not directly sampled part of the original song), and (b) arranged for a % of profits from sales to go to the original songwriters -- so if the new version has done both those things (where perhaps the previous fakes didn't) then there wouldn't be anything Icona Pop's label could do.

(Now I'll wait for it to suddenly disappear in about half an hour and make me look a fool :drama: )

I wonder are Capital making 'Crazy Kids' 'Tonight I'm Getting Over You' part 2? Capital airplay is the only thing I imagine would explain the surge.

I haven't heard Crazy Kids on Capital yet, so I don't think they're playing it so far (you can usually hear everything Capital plays just from listening for a few hours). Its sudden success is impressive imo. I don't think it's just because of will.i.am though, because the will.i.am version was released a few weeks ago and did nothing at first.

It's a good point, unless the label have just let this slip under their radar. It's now  14!

Gone are the days when Dizzee was guaranteed a #1 single with any old thing. A bit of a relief but at least Goin' Crazy is miles better than Dirtee Disco and Shout and probably on par with Holiday.

Slightly strange timing to say this considering this is going to be his biggest hit since his last #1... after 'Scream' flopped so badly and 'The Power' missed the top 5 even off the back of two DJ Fresh #1s I'm surprised to see Dizzee having such a resurgence in popularity this year with 'Bassline Junkie', 'Wild' and now this.

The 'Songs From Another Love' EP got deleted some time ago for some reason. I wonder if he'll ever re-release 'Stay Tonight', a track from that EP that's not on his album so is now permanently missing from iTunes...

I am quite pleased to see him doing well but I really wish it was 'Can't Pretend' that had this success. 'Another Love' is growing on me, the way he pronounces the title is pretty annoying though :P

Any new single version featuring an extra artist would have made this a much bigger hit than just the album version. will.i.am is a very good choice though, he is a massive name right now. But even the Juicy J version would probably have outpeaked 'C'Mon' I think.

I think this one has just climbed faster, rather than the record label acting slower. I doubt it'll make it to the end of the week. I'm not sure if what you've said was the case with Precision Tunes who never got deleted at the time but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing an MW article exposing the person behind Precision Tunes and making it clear it's very illegal to do this (and indeed their version of 'Payphone' is now no longer on iTunes, must be the only top 10 hit of recent years to not be on iTunes :P)

Leah down to #21 with 'Killing Me Softly', hurrah. Hope it plummets now and misses the top 40 officially, although if last episode was anything to go by it'll probably get a massive boost at the end of the week again (especially if she wins (which she will)).

Precisely. Will's name alone can't be the sole reason because that version was floundering around the 200 mark for a while before this huge random climb over the past few days. Gutted it's not the album version getting the success, but i guess right now ANY sales for her are welcome

If it is solely down to the song being played a bit on music channels then it just shows how big it can be with the right amount of exposure. Really hoping Capital pick it up - i mean it screams radio smash so i can't see why they wouldn't.

I mean, I don't know if those are the exact conditions for a cover version to be legitimate (I'm going off my hazy 5-year recollections of Media Studies  ), and I don't know if this fake version of 'I Love It' even complies with those conditions since I havent' heard it in full, but it's definitely not true that you need permission to do a cover version as long as you do comply with certain conditions. Just recently, Amy Winehouse's dad and record label were very unhappy that Beyonce did a cover of 'Back to Black', but there was nothing they could do to stop it, even though they held the copyright for the original.

Not really, as this song would have obviously gone straight to #1 if released in his 'anything will top the chart' era of 2009/2010. Yes he's having a resurgence of sorts (although I'm not sure he makes much of an impact on the success of the Jessie J song) but he's not the chart force that he once was, which is the only point I'm making here!

I think Dizzee had such an easy time getting #1s for a while because he had Dance Wiv Me which was absolutely huge commercially, and then Bonkers which was almost as big, and he had lots of hits after that just off the back of those hits. I think he lost momentum since he didn't do much in 2011, if DJ Fresh had released The Power at the time when Louder was released I think it would've got #1.
