Only done 28k in the past 2 days, another 28 to 30k, should bring him just under 130k, hopefully it be enough to pass Icona Pop's sales. This could be the last week of the over 100k consecutive's weeks, John could still get a second week at #1 though, but his second week's sales could dip below 100k next week.

Yes, you're right, but Robin could return to the top spot next week. <_<

Spark Productions still top 40?

Sats #11, full update coming up, hold your horses
At least they're now not going to peak at No. 11 which would have probably frustrated Sats fans the most.

Midweek Charts update: John Newman hitting 100,000 sales

Source: MW

by Paul Willams

John Newman's Love Me Again will become the 12th consecutive No 1 single on Sunday to clock up more than 100,000 weekly sales.

The newly-issued Island track currently leads the midweeks by nearly 40,000 units having been only around 2,500 copies short at the end of business on Thursday of surpassing 100,000 sales, according to the Official Charts Company. His 100,000 plus sales appearance at No1 this weekend will follow similar sales achievements by the likes of Daft Punk, Naughty Boy and Robin Thicke and further extend the longest consecutive run of chart-toppers with seven-figure tallies since January to April 1998.

Newman's closest challenger to No 1 is Thicke's Interscope/Polydor track Blurred Lines with TI and Pharrell Williams as it pushes ever closer to a million cumulative sales. It has already sold another 60,000 units so far this week to hold at 2, while Atlantic act Icona Pop featuring Charli XCX's I Love It drops 1-3. Will.i.am's Interscope/Polydor cut Bang Bang loses a place to 4 as Naughty Boy featuring Sam Smith's Virgin single La La La holds at 5. Britain's Got Talent 2013 finalist Gabz is new at 6 in the midweeks with the RCA-issued Lighters (The One).

There are presenty little more than 1,000 sales separating two former artist album No 1s in their quest to return to the top on Sunday. Gentlemen Of The Road/Island's Mumford & Sons currently have the edge with Babel's sales up 284% on the week and moving it 16-1 following their televised Glastonbury headline appearance last Sunday, while Michael Buble's Reprise/Warner set To Be Loved climbs 4-2 with sales up 82% as his 10-night O2 run in London continues. Columbia act Tom Odell's Long Way Down drops 1-3 and Mercury/Virgin EMI act Jake Bugg also benefits from Glastonbury with sales of his self-titled debut up 203% on the week to lift it 5-4. The Editors' new album The Weight Of Your Love, their first on Play It Again Sam, is new at 6 at this stage of the week.

Soz, there have been less than a handful of 7 figure chart toppers ever.

The Editors album is #5, Rod Stewart is #6, the MW report is conflicting with the official chart.

And for Kanye West members, his album has fallen dramatically to #21

I know... that's what I thought when I read the report, I thought I was going doolally.

Great to see Russ Chimes hanging in there at #37, I hope he makes the top 40 on Sunday, but that's unlikely as he's down to #49 on iTunes. Spark Productions should easily go top 40 which is great to see for both comical reasons and the fact that it's a sign of Avicii doing well when he is released.

I really want Russ Chimes to make it! Loving that at the moment.

I can sort of see why it's gone so wrong for The Saturdays this time around. 'What About Us' was a killer pop song and although the video was cheap, it looked glossy. This on the other hand has a few catchy hooks and quotable one liners but the chorus is piss weak, the video is cheap and it shows and it's all just disjointed and messy.

That's probably the most spot on account I've read for why Gentleman is flopping!

I like both Mumford and Sons and Michael Buble, so im ok for either to make their return to number 1. I hope the Editors can hold on, i knew they would drop through the week but their decline is slower than i thought  so top 10 looks pretty safe for them.
And flush. :o

Are you talking about Leona Lewis?

It should outsell 'Trouble' anyway!

Nah she's recording a Motown Christmas album. :music: 'Trouble' went 7-13-28(?).... I don't think 'Gentleman' will even equal Trouble's second week.

Trouble also had a great amount of promotion, of course 'Gentleman' has under performed, but at least The Saturdays' took a risk instead of going down the predictable route.

I see that the old and boring excuses are coming out already.

The fact is that the public think that it's CRAP.
