Given they're only 2k behind #1 and still gaining and not *too* far off #1 on iTunes I could actually see Sebastian/Tommy/John potentially pulling off a shock #1 now.

Now that would be an amazing #1. But I don't think it'll happen, the EP sales must've helped it get that close to #1, the gap will only widen now - but top 3 is still possible.

But he's now getting all the promo from shows like This Morning and Daybreak because he's had a massive hit. If Iggy got to Number 1 for numerous weeks, then she'd be on those type of shows too.

So you need promo to be massive but you need to be massive to get good promo. *_*

There is a 99.9% chance of Robin's future singles not outselling Blurred Lines though. There are very very few examples of artists following a million seller with an even bigger selling million seller (as far as I know, Rihanna is the only one to have done this, with We Found Love outselling the million selling Only Girl)

Céline Dion is the only other example I can see: Think Twice (1,320,000) [1994/95] was later outsold by My Heart Will Go On (1,500,000) [1998].

Surely Robin was just as unknown before 'Blurred Lines'? He'd only had one minor hit 6 years ago. Iggy had at least had a top 20 this year.

Well difference is that he only started to get his major promotion after Blurred Lines became a huge hit, and became big stateside. If it had done nothing in the US, I am pretty confident it would never have took off over here tbh.

I doubt that being a hit in the USA affects what people buy over here.

That is how it unfortunatley works in UK TV most of the time as big names attract more audiences as seen in Simon Cowell's shows, which only invite successful acts on.

It kind of helps though. Especially when it comes to re-releasing songs that didn't make an impact the first time around.

Tbf Blurred Lines blew up in multiple countries worldwide (including South Africa where it had an insane lead over the rest of the top 100) before it took off in the States but songs that do usually make it big in the US usually does something over here (probably because it encourages their label to push it).

Not really. Most UK buyers don't take into consideration that a song has been a hit in the USA when they download it.

Well no, but they get a bigger push here if they have been a hit in the US and the likes of Radio 1 and Capital are more inclined to play them. That is what I was getting at ....

The radio and TV pays attention though as seen with the delay in the release of I Love It as it was growing in popularity in the US.

Maybe if we're lucky; Sweater Weather might SOMEHOW take off and become a big US hit, and in turn give The Neighbourhood a long-awaited UK SMASHER :cheer: (but probably not)

Well no, they're hardly going to say "oh, the US bought this, I should too", but it being a US hit increases its profile worldwide, especially in the internet age. The worst problem with the music industry in this country is that it refuses to adapt to this.

Not sure if anyone noticed Lawson do have a physical single which can be obtained from their site as a signed copy. So I imagine they could be top 3
Lol at Robin still promoting this now.
Well, why wouldn't he? Lol. His album is out next Monday.

If only it was 'Overdose', 'Body Party' or 'DUI' having the success of 'I'm Out'. :drama: The UK do have a habit of cherry-picking the average songs of most albums.
The difference is, 'I'm Out' is the one that is being pushed as a singlr and the video premiered just a week or so ago. So why would them three be cherry picked more? ('DUI' video is released soon though, so hopefully that'll make some sort of impact! Top 100 would be lovely.

Whaaaaat?! Number 1 in Singapore, Malaysia & Thailand with my partners @lawsonofficial. UK let's do the same! Download here law.sn/brokenhearted

Erm. Since when did T.I have a collab with Lawson? And secondly the song isn't #1 anywhere.

That's a bit random re: T.I.!

As for the countries stated there, Adam from Lawson tweeted this a couple of days ago:

Adam Pitts ‏@LawsonAdam 7 Jul
